As a traveller, i have tried most of the nice italian restaurants in the Phils as well as in other Asian countries. I have few italian friends too; who sometimes visit and stay at my place whenever they come to Phils. These are just some few reasons why i luv italian people and their cuisine.
My experience with is Aria different though...when i was trying my luck to find some good resto at station 2, my curiousity brought me here... but for some reason, my 10 yr old son craves for a crunchy fried chicken (of course most of the kids prefer that) so since Aria doesnt serve these kind of dishes, we decided to get him his fried chix at the next resto. My son cannot eat all by himself in the huge crowd of tourist in D' Mall area so i decided to let him finish his meal beside me while waiting for my order. I asked my son if he wanted some pizza or anything at Aria and he said he wants nothing but their fresh mango shake. After my food has been served, the waiter told me that my son is not allowed to eat his fried chix at the table with me or i will have to pay a corkage fee of a hefty 500 for this! My son heard the concern of the management so he was really broken hearted coz he knew that his mom couldnt start eating since i wont even try to eat while my son is just staring at me, frustrated about his forbidden fried chix. I asked the waiter to have my food to be taken out instead so i can just go back at the hotel and eat together with my son. The waiter then came back and explained about the policy. I told them that if they do have a fried chix in the menu i wont let my son buy in another resto. i even reiterated that no parent would want to deprive his or her child with his cravings just for the lame and dense reason of this management. According to the Supervisor, the chef doesnt like to see any styro type of anything in their table. My god! It was a take out food so expect that t'was packed to go! It cant be packed using a dining plate right? only styro will do. They said the italian chef is so meticulous about this kind of issue. Ending, upon realizing their absurb manner, they allowed my son to have his food right next to me. My son didnt have the appetite anymore and so as i. We just politely ate and left quickly after settling our bill. My son ended up having 2 fresh mango juices at their resto.. It was just good coz the Filipina Manager approached us and apologize for this misconduct of d chef. But the damaged has been done. We felt indifferent already. My son felt disgraced for his illegal fried chicken. Our first night was ruined and their sorry can never replace the bad experience my son witnessed from this Management.
To rate this dinner...
The food was just alright, nothing spectacular though.
My breaded pork cutlet was blunt.
I ate in a very crampy dining area.
The food attendant are not so attentive.
The price is doesnt worth coz the kind of service they render is so poor.
Servings are just fair.
Real professional Chef must know how to give respect and total dedication to his customer ( i have worked in the most prestigious hotel in Dubai and developed friendships with the high profile Executive Chefs) so i know how they value their guests.
In my opinion, the chef must show and teach his team with high quality or excellent service attitude.
The only thing that is positive here is the Lady Manager who's been smiling and apologetic for the misconduct.
I will never never eat here ever again! I also encourage my fellow traveller not to try here coz it will just give them disappointments. Better check out other resto like Mango Ray or just walk around the area coz you will find more pleasing menu with a good price and better service!
