“1 of the last proper backpacker bars on the island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

On an island where a new super-club or massive bar opens seemingly every other week the Red Pirate is 1 of the very few old school backpacker bars on the island. It it's a bit of a walk down by station 3 but it's well worth the walk or tuk-tuk journey to get it down there. A place you can rock up sit by the bar and have a chat. A place to hear nice live music. A place to sit down and relax. Just what you need on Boracay.

“Awesome pub, you feel at home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012 via mobile

It was great to stop in this pub and meet people from all over the world. It also helps the drinks are cheap. Friday nights are busy because of the BBQ.

This place is near terminal 3 on the island. They let you order food from area restaurants who will deliver.

Thanks for a great time Pirates Pub.

“Island experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012 via mobile

Don't be fooled by the great reviews on here if you are after a stunning venue. It's essentially a shack on the beach with not great facilities... But for me the reason you come to a place like Boracay is to experience the culture, meet good people and have a good time. This place has character and good folk in abundance.

Live intimate music and cheap beer! Great place :)

“Best bar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

It is tiny, secluded, and primitive, but Red Pirates is easily our favourite bar on the island. We love its rustic, Robinson Crusoe thatched roof, kitschy tiki decor simplicity. Forget all the fancy overdone (and pricey) soulless hotel bars and 'trendy' clubs with throbbing DJ-spun music. Red Pirates has done it right--this is how a bar on a tropical island should look and feel! If you want action-packed late night clubbing in a meat market atmosphere, Red Pirates is not your place; go to Juice. This is a much quieter environment, where one can have a drink and still hear the ocean. Service needs a bit of sprucing up though. Don't expect efficiency, you are not being ignored, it's just that the staff have not exactly been trained in a 5-star hotel. Think island pace, and you'll be fine.

“It s not a real restaurant, But the hospitality and relaxing feeling of what Boracay really should be.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

Want the relaxing Boracay ? Old "style". Stay along Station 3 ! Red Pirates is owned by the most kind people you can imagine. And serving a great beach barbecue on Fridays. No wonder most of the foreigners who like the "good old Boracay", prefer to stay at Station 3. Away from the overrated and expensive places along station 2.
