This review is well overdue due to the rush, panic and catch-up that follows a return from vacation.
We were met at Puerto Princessa airport by Joe from Flueris. We were transported in the hotel van from the airport to the hotel. The bus could hold about 12 people so we had to share it with a large and noisy family.
OUr check-in was uneventful due to the large crowd that checked in with us. Needless to say, we didn't receive any welcome drinks. Our room was clean and comfortable. We stayed for 3 nights and after 2 nights of consistently removing the bed cover and placing it on the floor, they removed the darned thing altogether on the third night. The bathroom was clean and enough towels were provided. Just bring your own toiletries as they do not provide good quality substitutes.
The Flueris was 2 blocks from the town proper - perhaps you can call it the centre of town as the busy intersection 2 blocks away hosts Jollibee and Chow King branches. Tricycles around town are P6 per person, but we usually pay a flat P20 as they are so nice.
The staff at the Flueris were really nice. Special mention has to go to Jay in reception and Joe in front of house.
Our package came with breakfasts which were all very nice. The coffee shop where breakfast was served felt a little bit dark and dingy. This could have used some open windows for fresh air.
Reception took care of everything for us - from our day tours to dinner reservations.
In the evenings, they have a pianist in their cocktail lounge. We found this to be very relaxing.
There is an internet cafe with one computer in their 'business centre'. The service was reliable although the room(aka business centre) had alot of mosquitos (typical of Palawan in general so bring your repellent)
All in all there is'nt much I can complain about. I believe they were constructing some fake Juliet balconies at the hotel to hide the airconditioning units, therefore there was some construction noise. Also since we went during holy week, out cable TV(as small as the TV was) had no reception for 2 days. The hotel does not have an elevator so pack light.
