“Worth a stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2014

A clean and wonderful place with a great traditional atmosphere and a very nice restaurant. Great view and nicely situated - easy to get to town, to the restaurants by the water and tours.

Very friendly staff from the reception on the ground floor to the restaurant on fourth - and definitely worth a stay.

Puorto Pension offers good value for its price. They arrange free airport pick ups and drop offs and they are centrally located within the city. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We booked this hotel twice before and after staying in El Nido. The massages they offer are also really good.

The hotel's overall ambiance reflects the simple life in the provinces, which is very nice.. The staff are very courteous both for local and foreign guests.. And a short walk away is the baywalk area where affordable food and beer are available.. I'll definitely go back to this hotel for my next visit in Puerto Princesa..

We stayed at room 20 which had a beautiful view of the harbor. It is an eco-friendly basic hotel but is very clean and comfortable. The decor is that of the Philippine native motif. It has a nice courtyard and balcony for relaxing. If you are looking for clean accomodation without the frill of a full resort, then this would be a great place. If you are looking for more "action" and resort feel, then this is not the place for you. Since we were gone doing activities for the three days we were there, the hotel worked for us. The tour operators for the Underground River and the Honda Bay Tour picked us up directly from this hotel which made it convenient. This is a more laid back place. Restaurant on top floor is cozy and relaxing. Food was included with our rate which was wonderful!

Room Tip: Room 20 had great views!

Who says you can't go home again? I was in Puerto Pension 3 years and loved it. A week ago I went back because I had liked it so much - and partly to test it out. Hurrah. It surpassed all my expectations from the airport pick-up to the airport drop off a week later.
Just a lovely, well-designed place. The minute you step from the street - relatively quiet anyway - into the garden reception area, you feel welcomed.
And the staff here are faultlessly attentive to their guests, nothing servile about their demeanour, just kind and cheerful and aware.
Lovely bamboo building with cozy, comfortable bamboo rooms. So clean. And everywhere there is a welcome emphasis on ecology, including a solar shower.
And to top it all off, the wonderful rooftop restaurant with great views matched by fine food.
Tops.

Room Tip: Check the website. It tells it exactly like it is.

We love this place. It blends to the simple living of the people in the area but it doesn't mean the place is plain. It is neat, clean and has a nice view upstairs. The location is close to the airport and to the town that it is convenient to walk around at night. Bay walk is just at the back and this made our stay so enjoyable having to taste fresh seafoods with so many varieties with a very reasonable price. Wi-fi is great as well as the staff. We will come back to this place again!

In fairness, we had spent two weeks (prior to coming to Puerto Princesa) in PARADISE (Coron and El Nido). So coming to Puerto was a bit of a downer. People and cars and noise everywhere (gah!).

We really did like the Puerto Pension though. The rooms are clean and nice, the courtyard is tranquil and beautiful. The wireless service was great! The restaurant upstairs was fine, certainly easier than trying to find someplace else to go in the blur of the city.

If I had it to do over, I would have skipped Puerto Princesa all together and stayed in El Nido for an extra two days. Hindsight....
