“Good service!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

We had a family outing in Puerto Princesa, Palawan this October. We got a tour and hotel package from WanderLink Travel and Tours. They have a tie up with Maple Tours & Marianne Home Inn. They give you your money's worth. We had a morning flight and arrived early. They were very kind to accommodate us for early check in for one room and we waited for 12nn for the other room. They can also cook dinner for you. The dinner was very nice. Nothing compares to the fresh seafood in Palawan. We have our Island hopping on our last day, they had one room for late check in.

Location was very near the market. So if you plan to buy daing or danggit when you come back to Manila, it will be easy. If you wish to go around Puerto Princesa, you can take a tricycle from the hotel.

The heater on the second room was faulty but they repaired it. Their staff is very honest. Dad forgot some of his stuff on the other room but they returned it.

They also have hotel service massage. I was informed that you get a cheaper massage if you go to the spa directly.

Just love the bright atmosphere, clean and friendly staff. walking distance to the marketplace. The food was great but the dining area was a bit small most especially in the morning when everyone in the hotel goes down for bfast. But all in all it was a good place to stay.

I would love to give this hotel a 5 but a total of 12 seats divided in 2 tables during breakfast is horrific for a couple like us. Travelling families are great and conversing with strangers are a gem but please not on a very cramped space during breakfast when I am not in my element and I just want to eat in peace without the pressure of social interaction. And to think we went there during the off peak season...

Breakfast is served fast and is satisfying in terms of taste and portion size.

The hotel is relatively new and room size is modest. Although the walls were effective in drowning whatever noise the adjacent room makes, you will hear EVERYTHING that's going on in the corridor.

We find Ms Rebecca at reception friendly and knows what she is doing but in her absence, Mitch is there and let me just say you have to be extra nice to get straight answers from her.

Although we reserved the room less than a week before arrival and we did not pay downpayment because weather was really unpredictable, every email and text was promptly replied to. Airport shuttle was there even though our flight was delayed for about 2 hours.

The hotel location has its pros and cons - quite far from the airport and the famous restos but near the baywalk and the cathedral.

On our first night we were upgraded to a family room (room 302) but the succeeding nights we stayed at standard room 305.

There's a water dispenser at the G/F and 2/F and we saved some cash by refilling our water bottles from there.

We also availed of Underground River and Honda Bay tours through the hotel. Hotel staff coordinate well with the travel company. I just wish their tours include everything. Asking the tourists for this and that fee can get really annoying.

Room Tip: go for rooms in higher floors

We were a group of 6 persons when we stayed at Marianne home inn last July. I arranged our tours with them seeing that their packages were very reasonable and it pretty much covered all the important sites in Puerto princessa.

Rooms - We had 2 triple rooms which were clean and comfortable. It had a tv and bathroom ensuite. One comment i had was that the rooms were facing a basketball court and during the 2 nights, there were rowdy teenagers playing basketball with powerful lights that streamed into the room but then it's out of the inn's control. If you want peace and quiet, i would suggest you get a room facing the other side.

Staff - the staff were very accommodating and helpful. :)

Location - The inn is right beside the wet market so sometimes when you enter the inn, it will smell like fish.

We came to noticed Marianne Home Inn through Philippine Airlines Tour Packages and considered their accommodation due to the positive reviews we read. We then inquired for the availability of the hotel’s own tour package since we already have our round trip ticket. Upon inquiry, we requested if we can pay the 50% down payment two (2) weeks after we have requested for the 4D/3N Tour Package and the management agreed to our negotiation.

During our stay, we were served by friendly staffs. The free breakfast was simple yet delicious and to eat at the rooftop is an option. The room was spacious, clean with lots of available outlets for our gadgets. The comfort room was big and clean also. The towels were replaced daily and we were pleased because they didn’t make up our room since we don’t want the room to be touched by others while we were out on our tour. We have only two concerns, first was the closet: The doors needed repair, it doesn’t properly close and doesn’t have dividers. Second, the wake-up call: We asked the night-shift receptionist for a wake-up call since the pick-up time for our tour the following morning was too early but unfortunately there was none the following morning. But overall, our 3N stay in Marianne was a relaxing, pampering and memorable one. We are also grateful that the management granted us extension of our check out time. Since our flight back to manila was at 6:30pm they allowed us to stay in the room until 4pm.

We will surely recommend Marianne Home Inn to our family and friends.

I was actually looking for a tour package when I landed on Marianne's website. I was quite impressed with the photos online and how affordable the accommodation and tour packages are so I decided to book our stay there. We were picked up at the airport by the driver from Marianne. I was expecting a van for the vehicle but we were picked up by a Pajero!

Upon stepping at Marianne, I instantly fell in love with the place. It really felt like home. Don't expect hotel service. But I assure you that the staff is very friendly, courteous and warm. We were assisted to our room and I was happy that the bed is quite huge, there is a cabinet and the bathroom is clean and decent.

We also availed of tour packages from Marianne and the agency was always ahead of the call time and pick up time. We enjoyed all the tours because the agency staff is very friendly and well-versed.

We also loved the plated Filipino breakfast at Marianne. We were served tocino, longganisa, daing and we loved how it really tasted home.

Marianne is located in a residential area but the surrounding area is quiet even at night. We even met kuya tricyle driver who we rented to go to several restaurants at night.

The only thing that bothered us during dawn is the noise along the corridor but it is not a big deal since it is beyond Marianne's control.

This is a very clean and affordable place. The staff were polite and accommodating. They also cleaned our room in the 4 days that we were there. The free breakfast was very Filipino, and it felt like home made food.
Though we stayed there by getting a tour package months before, it's still quiet good that it's near a couple of tourists destinations because we were still able to explore Puerto Princesa on our own.
