“definitely reminds you of Pinoy Hospitality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

My family and I went to Palawan last December. My mom booked this place for us. Place was a bit secluded from the busy town which makes it a very nice pick ... Hospitality is at its best! Friendly staff.

Room Tip: They just need to improve on the wifi network in the hotel though, you have to go out of your room a...

We stayed in this hotel for 3days last May of this year as part of our vacation in the Philippines.
It is located away from the city proper and ideal for a quiet time with your family, the hotel is relatively new because the structure still looks new. The rooms are good and space is great. The restaurant is fantastic and the staff in the restaurant are good hostess. Another good thing about the hotel is the shuttle bus that can bring you to the city proper if you wanted a dinner outside their property. What I hate about this hotel is the Front Desk, no proper greeting, you can really feel they are rude and unprofessional. When we arrived in the hotel we already asked the front desk to reserve us a table at Ka louie's restaurant for the following day and we specifically requested if they can reserve us at around 7PM but they told us it will be hard to get a reservation at that time because there is a lot of people on those timings and suggested that we opted for around 8PM or 8:30PM in which we agreed for we trusted their suggestion. The next day we were in a tour that will last until 6pm thinking we will have a nice dinner when we come back but we were so upset because that didn't happen. The front desk reserved us at 6pm at the restaurant without informing us about it. For me that is unprofessional, I have stayed in a lot of well known hotel and this was my first time to be treated like that. The manager should held a training for their front desk in how to act in front of the house. What a big disappointment we had with this. property.

Room Tip: Choose the room facing the beach, it was a great view from the room upstairs.

Thank you for sharing with us your comments regarding your stay; we are saddened that while you found the hotel ideal for a quite time with your family, you unfortunately had a bad experience with the Front Desk staff. Rest assured that this is unusual and that necessary action will be taken to make sure this would not happen again. We hope we get a chance to make it up to you and welcome you again on your next visit to Puerto Princesa.

This hotel is in a beautiful location right on the beach. The tidal changes are huge from high to low tide! And it is really neat to be able to walk way out and check out the sea creatures. The hotel was clean and the staff was very accommodating. My only complaint here that keeps this location from being 5 star was the pool. The pool was incredibly dirty and had a film of junk growing on the bottom. Beyond that, we had a great stay here!!

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay at our hotel. It is so nice to hear from guests who appreciate the changing nature of tides and the different wonders and experiences this brings.
We do apologize, though, for the pool -- the "dirt" you saw were actually pockmarks on the pool's finish and, while unsightly, are not necessarily dirty or unsanitary. In any case, we are already scheduling the 3-year old pool for resurfacing with a material that is more suited for the seaside environment of the resort.
Thanks again for taking the time to write about your great stay here in Microtel Puerto Princesa!

We stayed here for 4 days back in November last year. The location was ok, and appreciate your restaurant staff (particularly 2 of them), very friendly and the service was great. We stayed in one of the beachfront rooms on the second floor. Great water view particularly in the morning. However the downside we experienced were with the front desk staff, When we arrive in the hotel, there were no greetings very lack lustre.. And when we went up to ask for restaurant recomnendation, their answers/suggestions were vague. Thank goodness we met a another guest couple who gave us good restaurant suggestions. Overall our stay was ok, but I have to say the front desk staff needs improvement big time...

Room Tip: Definitely choose one of the beachfront view rooms, on the second floor.

Hotel is in great beach location. Nice and quiet. Staff very friendly and helpful. They arranged trips efficiently. The Honda bay trip was very enjoyable. Good shuttle bus service that will collect you from a restauarant in town.
The restauant could be better, The staff tried but many days they did not have the ingredients for dishes on the menu and we had to teach them how to toast bread.

Thank you for your review -- it is always good to hear guests say they enjoyed themselves at Microtel Puerto Princesa thanks to its location, friendly and efficient staff, and free shuttle service to town. I'm glad you also enjoyed your Honda Bay trip.
We're likewise working on improving our restaurant concessionaire. Come mid-August or early September, expect to hear great news from us regarding this. Hope you could give us another try by then!

Great location and right on the beach. Rooms are sparce, pay the extra for the sea view. Food is ok, a good choice and reasonable. Hotel could try to offer a choice of trips, as getting information on what to see and do was a challenge. if you plan to go the the underground river, you will need to go the permit office in person. Hotel offer a free shuttle service.

Room Tip: Ask for the sea view

Thanks for your review. The Hotel can help arrange all your tours, even to the Underground River. We know how hard it is to get permits, but if you advice us in advance, we can get your permit for you -- no need to line up personally at the UR Office! All information on the other tours the City has to offer can be arranged at our Guest Services Desk. Island-hop in Honda Bay, explore the City, swim with the whalesharks, see the dolphins, explore the mangroves, visit the tribes, meander through scenic rivers, see the fireflies, go ziplining, spelunking, kayaking, horseback-riding, trekking -- the activities are endless! There's something for everyone here in Puerto Princesa City!
