“Best place for a brunch, lunch or just having a coffee!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2014

Very nice coffee shop, here you can find the best pastries and bagels in town. Also they have the best capuccino in Palawan, you can't miss it. Great service, once you enter you just feel like at home, thanks to the decoration and his owner Michel!
Don't forget to stop at this place and try its delicious home made carrot cake!

“Lovely stop over for a tasty light meal or an indulging treat - all organic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014

A great new entry in El Nido!

Despite disliking the overgrowing tendency of the village, coming back this year, I did appreciate this little new spot on the main street, replacing an old restaurant.

All ingredients are organic. You may have a tasty light meal or treat yourself with a delicious home made cake or pie (not bad after a three-dive day in March, when water is not at the top of its warmth) Or, you can sip a hot green tea with honey & lemon, or a coffee while chatting with the friendly owner: a man and diver, who (literally) sailed the world and is always up for a chat!

Surprising selection of wines too and very friendly staff.

No Wifi - thanks god: the place is small and El Nido is a seaside village. Those who prefer / need a screen to the beauty of the 3D, can find myriads of other places.

The only thing I'd add to this cosy place is the sea view, but for that, you just need to cross the street :)

Enjoy your stop over!

“Great pitstop for small meals and takeaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2014

Also good as takeaway for lunch when you're heading for Puerto Princessa. It was nice to have the bagels instead of the usual lunch served on these breaks on bus rides.
I recommend the veggie bagel, or the one with sun-dried tomatoes.

“Best sandwich in town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

I had a bagel sandwich here for lunch and it was the best in the island. I'm not giving them 100% because the bagels are expensive. But it was worth it. Try it if you've got money to burn. It's also in a nice location along the side of the road.

“Delicious and authentic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

We stopped by chance in this new little restaurant café, modeled after a New York deli. Interesting story how a French woman, the daughter of the owner, learned how to make New York Bagels over there... and taught her father and the kitchen crew from El Nido!
Being from Montréal, the owner and I could not avoid a friendly discussion on which bagels are the best... but that's best left for another time.
They make their bagels themselves and they are delicious. A "delicatessen" bagel, with smoked salmon, cream cheese and capers was a true pleasure! We then tried a piece of cheesecake and it was... the REAL thing. Michel also made us taste a few other of his foods, pesto and carot cake and all are delicious.
Some may think it's a detail, but Michel also has utensils made out of cellulose, which will biodegrade when thrown out, which is something most SE Asian countries need. He also says he will have his basil and carrots grown by local producers, so this encourages the villagers and ensures good quality products.
