I'm not usually the one to make a complaint on here but if someone was to ask me I definitely would not recommend this so called resort. Choose elsewhere from many other nearby hotels or better still in the town proper that have several beach front hotels.
I booked the resort due to the attractive package the resort had on offer.
Firstly, to get to El Nido it takes roughly 5 or so hours via private van from Puerto Princesa. The journey to El Nido halfway onward was quite rough, best suitable for 4 wheel drive. Roads were under construction and may take months to complete. Small direct flight services too costly but I hear Cebu Pacific are looking at trialing flights service to El Nido airport in the near future.
Service at resort was terrible. .staff in need of training, regardless if you communicate in english or in tagalog!!!
Dont hire their masks and flippers; useless and waste of money!
When my hubby's cousin and his family left a day before us to catch their international flight in the afternoon staff lied about their transport back to Puerto Princesa. Mind you their private transfers were arranged prior to our arrival and they had reconfirm this on the day of our arrival. When you pay for a package that includes private transfers you expect private transfers!!! Instead they were dropped off to a bus station at 5.00am to ride a 6 hour rugged journey only to stop at Puerto Princesa bus station and had to flag down a tricycle to take them to the airport which was roughly 15 mins away. Good thing they got to the aiport an hour before departure!!!!
Food, in particular the breakfast was disappointing, bland and cold. I suggest ordering in the morning and not the night before and I highly recommend eating out for lunch/dinner in the town proper (abouts 10 mins by tricycle, P30 per person).
Room okay but husband and I swear there were bed bugs cos both hubby and I were covered in bites.
Shower inadequate. You only get a trickle from the shower due to resort conserving water and is cold to lukewarm.
Power cut off is between 6.00am and 2.30pm except for wifi but even the wifi was not consistent for the duration of our stay. Power cut is standard in El Nido.So don't expect a cold beer until later on in the evening.
The only positives I can say are the two young boat men that took us out on a two day island hopping. They were very attentive so much so that one of them went out of his way to swap some of our chicken pieces that was mixed with pork marinate with another boatman before grilling just so I can eat it for lunch. I told staff back at the resort that I had a reaction to pork prior to the island hopping and requested staff to separate the chicken from pork but of course this did not happen. For this reason I decided to only ever tip the boatmen and not the staff.
I had forgotten the name of our driver but he too was very accommodating and tried his best to get us to El Nido as quickly as he could but was mindful of the terrible roads. He too was rewarded with a tip.
