“Nice hotel in Yogyakarta !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014 via mobile

Nice & calm hotel, friendly and available staff!
Clean room, good value for money!
The pool is nice, there is also a restaurant where you can get cheap snacks and meals.

A few regrets:
When we showered, water went everywhere in the bathroom, and never dried so the floor remained wet all the time
Little choice for breakfast
The hotel is a little far to walk to the places of interest

Came as a party of 6, walk-in. I understand how this could be problematic but we were quite flexible and were willing to find a different place to stay if necessary. We came in optimistic about the hotel- the concept is quite nice-- but we were very disappointed by the service.

Our biggest issue was that the front desk staff seemed to be deliberately ambiguous with us. When asking simple questions about whether or not it would be feasible to put 2 people in one room, 4 people in the other with an extra bed, etc. we were not given straight answers. Language was not an issue since we can all speak Indonesian. Finally after discussing the options for about an hour and viewing a few different rooms we settled on 3 superior rooms, with 2 twin beds in each room. We asked if we could book two nights and they said that they "didn't know." By this point we were getting frustrated so we decided to book just one night and find a different hotel for our second night in Yogya.

Feeling relieved that we finally had everything sorted our, we paid, got our keys, and were brought to our rooms. The only problem was that two out of three of the rooms were not the same that they had promised; instead of two twin beds in each room there was one queen size bed. I understand that this isn't the end of the world but we had specifically requested and verified several times that we would get twin beds. When I asked the man who had accompanied us to our rooms why they were different than the ones we had booked, he told me "oh no, don't worry, this one is only temporary. The other room is not available right now but you can move there at 12:00 AM tonight." I was in disbelief. "What? We'll be sleeping at midnight." I told him. "Oh, then you can move tomorrow morning" he said, with a smile. I could not believe what I was hearing. "We're checking out tomorrow morning" I told him. "Oh, I see" he responded, and we stood there in silence. We went back to the front desk and ask why we were not provided the same rooms that we had booked. They play dumb at first but finally after some deliberation, two rooms with twin beds magically appeared. So apparently they had them after all.

The room itself along with the breakfast was standard, at par with the rate. Wifi wasn't great. Overall our stay was quite average besides our bad experience with the service.

We found the staff of this hotel to be extremely helpful and friendly during our stay. Rooms are nice and there is a large Indonesian-style breakfast buffet with eggs and toast as Western options too. Overall good hotel.

Rengganis :
People were nice but it was the only good thing. Breakfast was the worst we had in all Indonesia and there is nothing after 9AM even if it's announced until 10AM. Even if the room was clean on day 1, the room was not made again during our 4 nights stay (we had to go everyday at the reception to ask for new toilet paper...). Rooms are on 2 levels all around the pool : depending on the others clients (party people or young kids), it can be very loud early and/or lately.

I stayed 4 nights there in Deluxe Room, traveling with family and 1 infant. Everything is new and always clean. Pak Bambang, the receptionist is really helpful.
Good location as well easy to go to the town centre. Suggestion for breakfast is need more variation, as we stay for 4 nights and found Gudeg in the breakfast everyday. Would recommend to our friends and family.

Room Tip: Room with AC overlooking to the pool would be good

I stayed 4 nights there in the dormitory. Everything is new and always clean, the staff is really helpful and nice. Swimming pool, a/c and awesome breakfast included. Good location as well easy to go by walk in the town center. So a good price for this standing.

The hotel is lovely and the staff is extremely nice and helpfull. There is a buffet breakfast included with traditional food. The cheapest room is a dorm with AC and it is very clean. Would recommend it any time!
