“Trully nostalgic, very classic hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

I spend 2 nights with my fiance last december in deluxe room. The hotel had very nice staff that always smile and very helpful. The hotel room itself was very classic with batik decoration on the wall. However the bathroom will be nicer if they have bathtub. Very nice pool view and classic balcony of hotel room.
Breakfast was excellent with many food varieties and also gamelan sound background. We will try the antique Mercedes benz in the next visit.
Overall nice hotel, very recommended.

Stayed in the hotel for 3 days during my trip around Yogya's temples and volcanoes.
I have booked a twin room which was on special. The room was well equipped. The only thing was that bathroom (especially shower) requires some refreshment.
All the rest was really perfect. Hotel's exterior and interior is awesome. Service is very good. Breakfast was nice with big selection of tasty food.
Location of the hotel wasn't crucial cuz taxi is very cheap. The only problem is traffic...

Room Tip: Avoid rooms facing street because of early morning calls for praying

I'm fond of hotels with ambience and character, what's more a rich history behind it. This hotel has it! They even organise a historical tour of the hotel but unfortunately I couldn't find time.

Check-in was smooth. Greeted with smiles, warm towels and a refreshing welcome drink. Our room was on the 2nd floor with a balcony overlooking the quadrangle courtyard. I enjoyed passing time at the balcony...getting immersed in the nostalgic atmosphere and the peaceful night, despite its location on a busy main road. The sound of waters from the fountain in the courtyard was simply therapeutic, sounding like raindrops. The hotel was thoughtful to have a complimentary jar of candies and a bowl of their local fruit (salak) on the table.

Breakfast spread was fit for royalty. You got to see it to believe it. From healthy traditional street food and medication (jamu) section, local Indonesian food, breads and pastries, intercontinental delights, many cereals, cordial drinks, freshly squuezed juices and many more. Every breakfast, a local Indonesian man plays the traditional instrument of Gamelan. If you don't mind the heat (harsh at times), I suggest sitting near the courtyard. I wish I had some breakfast photos to share.

Convenient and centralised location! There are street food just by the right side of the hotel. Restaurant Tiga Nyonya (not sure if it's Halal - didn't go), K Mart - opposite the hotel. Near the traffic junction on the right (same side of the hotel) near the Tugu (Jogja monument), there is a cheap burger station.

Jln Malioboro and the Malioboro Mall - about 20 mins slow walk from hotel. There are trishaws or 'beca' parked in front of the hotel. Heading to Jln Malioboro would cost IDR30-40,000. I recommend walking to Malioboro and ride the beca back to hotel which would cost IDR15-20,000 per beca (2pax).

Spa - there is spa at the hotel. About IDR450,000 for a 55min massage. Maybe will try it the next time. They have special promo for guests.

Airport transfer IDR80,000 per room per way which I thought was a bit pricey.

Overall, i'm in love with hotel and the arts city of Jogja! Highly recommended!

Very pleasant hotel in Yogyakarta that made my short stay enjoyable.

Staff: Very friendly, warm smiles, will approach you to assist on anything even if there might be a language barrier.

Room: Comfortable with a balcony looking out to the street and next door buildings. There were other rooms with balconies looking down the pool.

Cleanliness: 5-star standard. The interior of the hotel is well-furnished and comfortable.

Location: Seemed like it was miles from the main street of Malioboro where all the bars, stores, restaurants, and tourists are located but the hotel was just one block away from the street and about a 15 min walk towards the main attractions.

We were about to leave Solo and decided to stay one night at Jogja.
Feels very like home the first time we entered the lobby, And the room was excelent with the pool view from our balcony. Our 7 months old boy loves playing in small the kids pool.
Breakfast was just different from any other hotel, you can feel the local culture from each dishes, well done Mr. Thomas and Mr. Ferry Iswoyo.

I stayed at this hotel for one night, arriving early in the morning at the airport. I had prearranged (via email) that a driver from the hotel would pick me up and take me to Borobudur in the morning, and then drive me to the hotel. That worked out beautifully, and it was very efficient. I checked in in the afternoon at 13:00. The restaurant recommendation in town from the driver was excellent. I got one of the rooms in the new tract of the building. The room consistent of the a bedroom area, and also had a small table to work, plus a large sofa and a chair. The bathroom was large and in excellent condition. I was also impressed about the quality of some of the Indonesian food that I had for dinner.
