“Worlds removed from Prambanan Circus”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2012

Once you have seen Prambanan, come here to relax in history. Wonderful site in country setting. Come early to see Mt. Merapi looming over the ruins.

“A truly special temple”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2012

I have visited Boroubodour and Prambanan twice. Both temples are awe inspiring places of beauty. This was my first visit to Plaosan, and it blew me away. Small, beautiful and spiritual. If you have an interest in buddhist philosophy it is likely this place will leave a deep imprint on your heart.

“The Twin Temples”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2012

Seems strange but this would be my favourite temple site. Although most of the area is a complete ruin, there are so many astonishing things to find while wandering around amongst the devastation. Of course the twin temples themselves which have been restored, are a wonder and then as we wandered through to the rear of the area we discovered a platform like affair with budha statues around the perimeter. Sadly most of them are seriously damaged, but that doesn't detract from the special spiritual feeling of the place.
