“Good concept”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

This little complex of restaurant, bakery and travel shop emphasises sustainability and ethics. You could certainly spend your money in worse places.

Its hard to get decent western food in Indonesia but Via Via does a good interpretation. The staff is quick and friendly and the beer is great. Try the schwarma!

“yummy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

i love this place .. I travel to Jogja regularly and hang out here a lot.
The food is always delicious, fresh, and cheap. With a great Menu , Its always good to have something a little western , when i m craving bland. Their Indonesian food is beautiful, with the perfect blend of spice. Presentation is creative.. Often they will have Exhibitions of Local artists on the walls . i have seen some amazing work.. The staff are really friendly and helpful.. Via Via Jogja is a really well run business worthy of all travellers support

I am never disappointed by their food or service. A favorite for foreigners but not pretentious or hyped up. Their young and energetic staff are on it! environment restful and yet fun. reasonable.

“Laid back atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

We were not very hungry but knew we needed something and were not sure what to expect when we walked in. After looking at the menu I was so disappointed that I was not very hungry, I could have order 3 or 4 dishes. The menu was a very pleasant change from the usually Indonesian cuisine, with this menu you could have been transformed to almost any part of the world.
As part of the Via Via restaurant their is a shop that sells locally made products to assist with the local economy as well as supporting a recycling of program which some of the items are made from.
The restaurant / shop was full of people with their portable devices tapping away I assume updating their Facebook status or advising loved ones they were safe, the atmosphere was laid back. No one was in a rush, customers were happy to sit back and enjoy their meal or drinks, the staff were entertaining with their antics of playing the instruments and modelling the masks from the shop.
When the food arrived it was delicious, again I wished I did not eat lunch so late, I wanted to try more.
