De Burse belongs to the same owner as Eastern Promise and De Hooi, regular hang-outs for expats in Jakarta but popular with locals as well. De Burse is a bit smaller and cosier than the other places. It has a really nice atmosphere in Dutch "bruin cafe" style, a typical style of cafe in Holland and Belgium. Really pleasant. The menu consists of honnest, good quality pub food. I had a chicken burger which was excelent and my friends spoke highly of their fish and chips and quesadillas. We were served fairly quickly which is becoming more and more unusual in Jakarta and is a great benefit when you have lunch on a work day. The only drawback is the loaction in the basement level of the Equity Tower, but as soon as you are inside that doesn't really matter anymore. Wouldn't exactly drive all the way around the city to come here, but if you work in the Sudirman Central Business District, happen to have a meeting there or are on shopping spree in nearby Pacific Place Mall, then this is a great place to have lunch or a drink. I will definitely return here.
