It took me more than 2 1/2 hours from the airport to the hotel. Friday evening and rain, apparently disaster for Jakarta traffic. But I had to hotel car, which was comfortable.
Rooms are nice and big, yes maybe no flat TV, but I think that the old TVs are better anyway.
Internet is not great, but in the top 20 % of all the hotels I know. Skype and iChat work well. Internet was free of charge, as well free of charge in the lobby and coffee shop - this is really good.
Separate shower and a nice sized bathroom with plenty of water coming out of the shower. Good. (although the weather also had plenty of water during my stay...)
Food in coffee shop is mostly asian style, but very good and tasty. Very few western dishes, but still enough. Breakfast is excellent, with fresh squeezed orange juice. Unfortunately the buffet is designed that you have to go to 6 or 7 different locations within the coffee shop. Hence sometimes hard to find things, especially when you see it for the first time (or are still tired)
I am missing electric plugs. Next to the bed there is one, but difficult to reach. Also it only takes English / Hongkong style adaptors. For an international hotel there should be different sockets for US-German-Other style of plugs.
Working desk and chairs could be more modern. Rest of the furniture is old, but well kept.
I did not comment on the location, as I am still confused about Jakarta. Maybe it is 5 Star, maybe 1 star - I have no idea.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. It is nice to see that most (all) people speak English very well, as I do a lot of traveling in China, I am not used to hotels with a lot of English speaking staff.
As for the security, I like it. I felt safe.
