I have stayed here on my last three trips to Jakarta.
Clean Tidy Hotel, great value.
Excellent restaurant Shanghi Storm.

The linen & towels are dirty, a lot of spots & dull, look like they never been washed.

Room size is ok, but looks old.

If you find the review this hotel's room is clean, then you should try it yourself, so that you can figure it out.

The Alila hotel only looks clean at the lobby & restaurants, if you talk about the room, it's very disappointed.

When I disputed a charge, instead of trying to resolve the issue in civil manner; threatened to call the police.

After surrounding me with the 5 security guards for 30 minutes, finally came to a sense and resolved the dispute in a civil manner.

Never stayed in a hotel where they treated the customers like a CRIMINAL !!!

I do stay always @ Alila Jakarta since 2005 and have to say that I am satisfied so far. The hotel is value for money and if you are seeking for a relaxed stay this is the place to be. This is indeed not a posh place compared to the other options in Jakarta, but everything is proper, they do have a spa, gym and pool and the restaurants are worth a visit. Best of all- internet is free of charge in the room. Breakfast @ buzz offer a wide range of western and asian options of decent quality.
The staff is always nice and helpful- especially the bell boys as one of them lend me his cell phone battery as mine was empty.
After a busy day or late night out- this is like coming home.
