The hotel staff are very courteous and friendly and hotel is beautiful. The location is good however there is not very much within walking distance, but I think the same could be true for just about any hotel in Jakarta. Security is excellent.

Our room was large and very clean, comfortable and we had a great view of the city. Room service was excellent and very fast.

The hotel gym is well equipped with both weight training and cardio equipment and is quite spacious. The pool is also very nice and welcoming after a hot day in a pollution ridden and very busy city. The spa is beautiful and both massages I had were very good.

The neighbourhood seemed safe at all hours but the sidewalks are rough or non-existent and there is alot of traffic to contend with. People on the streets are very friendly and will help you find what you need if it is in the area. Taking taxis anywhere is long and tedious due to the very busy and congested streets.

Intercontinental, Jakarta is very suitable for business travelers as it is located amidst the important business district and close to many corporate offices.
The services are very good and prompt. Rooms are clean and spacious with all the modern amenities and 32" Plasma TV. The SPA services are very good and priced reasonably.
Also a good place for the lovers of the Asian food and wine. the Bachhus restaurent serves best of the wines at a reasonable price.

I have been told Jakarta is awful for the traffic, especially from the Airport to the City, in fact, nothing more than Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok, 45 minutes without traffic and maybe more during peak hours.
The Intercontinental is in the business district, the Hotel has all standards of the Group, and you will not be disappointed, modern, clean and well furnished. Rooms are spacious and well maintained (it is an old Hotel), staff is very friendly even if you have to go through so many check points (at least 3 before you reach your room – security is at a very high level in this city).

The only negative part is that the Hotel is lacking of restaurant or any nearby entertainment (shopping mall or food area), it is really a very quiet place, boring to certain extent. In addition, walls are thin and you will hear you neighbors or anyone walking or talking in the corridor, it can be very annoying if you have a light sleep.

I will recommend for a short business stay, if you are in Holidays, go to the area where you have the Hyatt, Kempinsky etc… It is much more happening.

I spent an Easter break here with a friend and had an absolutely fabulous stay. I could not have asked for more on this trip.

From the friendly and efficient check in, the superbly renovated rooms, the restaurant and lobby bar service it was truly a memorable experience and I would certainly go back for more!
