I was pleasantly surprised with Kidzania. In Jakarta, going out to play in parks is a rare occassion, so going to indoor play area is usually a matter of 'no-choice'. Kidzania, however, is really something that my son would love to go back to again and again.
Kids get to role-play, trying different jobs. The jobs varies from something as cool as a secret agent, or CSI agent, to something as simple as a window cleaner and shoe shiner. Some jobs actually let them learn how to make soap, bread, drinks etc. I personally think the police job is the cutest, because there's a real 'bad guy' running around in the town and they have to try to find and apprehend him.
It really gave kids a sense of working and getting paid, then making them wonder if they want to really use their hard earned cash on toys, food, or city tours.
My advice is to try to come on weekdays during schooldays... I was lucky my son's school doesn't start on the same date as most schools. Otherwise long queues kind of takes the fun away. I also wish they gave us a map so we don't waste time going around, but staffs are very helpful and the place is small enough that after two activities, I know (and especially the kids) know where everything is.
