“Minimalist Design & Price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

For the price, it's a pretty good bargain. The hotel is located within walking distance to Jalan Jaksa, Jalan Sabang & St. Teresa Church, which have a variety of restaurants & street vendors offering good & inexpensive food open at all hours of the day. The nightlife around the area is quite alive while the hotel restaurant is also a hip hang-out spot on weekends.

The hotel has a quiet & nice reading outdoor patio, quiet pool area, simple but decent gym & even free self-service laundry facilities (washing & drying machines). It's a good hotel to stay for both tourism & business purposes & good base to explore the city from.

just in the middle of the Jakarta, a short walk from Jalan Thamrin and Sarinah.
This hotel is big enough in size, yet didn't attract attention. location just beside the main street of Wahid Hasyim Street. you will nnot notice it is a hotel unless you see the big name in front of the building. even a lot of taxi dont know the name and location.
apparently it is a hotel reluctantly built, but find a sudden success by its own. It was mend to be a condotel, but turn to a Hotel. I was wondering from the Top of the building, how they use the space and build it, it's odd but interesting. A lot of empty spaces wasted, considering the land price in this central location, maybe its planned of expansion.
Hotel inside is beautiful, expect a studio room with a simple kitchen and rustic while interior.
Everything fine and i would recomend anybody for this hotel.
Considering the price is affordable for the service and location.

Room Tip: better take the room not facing the main road and higher floor, so it is not so noisy.

I was impressed as soon as I entered this boutique hotel. There is black BMW motorcycle with sidecar by the door, a Vespa scooter near the elevators, and two strikingly red lounge chairs at the middle landing of the stairs near the lobby. Elegantly modern. However, the reception does not feel welcoming enough. The staff at the reception appear too formal and uncharacteristically smiling less than the Indonesians hotel staff that greeted me in two previous hotels (Jakarta Airport Hotel and Ibis Styles in Yogyakarta).

The impressive design of the lobby extends to the room. I stayed in room 431. The room is amply spacious and nicely laid out. Lighting is splendid with the light fixtures focused on different spots. The floor to ceiling glass wall by the bedside is a very good contrast to the raw cement-finish ceiling and white brick walls surrounding the room. The bathroom needs a little mantenance service, however. The water does not drain quickly enough on the shower floor.

The staff are too formal. Some of the waiters at the lobby restaurant do not smile.

The hotel is in good location, close to where some of the Jakarta highlights are.

The hotel is within easy walking distance of Thamrin.

From my room I could see Monas (which is also easy walking distance away).

I stayed in a studio room. This was a lot bigger than a standard hotel room. Whilst I didn't use the kitchen facilities I was glad to have the option.

The only downside is that during early prayers at the nearby Mosque I was awoken. Not exactly a big problem.

The free internet and breakfast were also welcome.

The sixth floor pool is worth spending an hour or two at.

Room Tip: High room on the opposite side of the building from the mosque.

The room design is one of the why i choose this place to have stay in during this period. It was also quite and very private, but still in the middle of city center so it's still easily to go around.

The room is quite big and have a pantry and also basic needs for your needs such as iron & microwave, stove, etc. The bathroom is quite small compare to the room, i love the couch and and big wide full wall window.

The breakfast is nothing special, not many patron during very early morning.
If you are looking for a simple but complete hotel room in the middle of city with nice cozy design, this might be your one.

One night is not enough to stay at Morrissey. The interior is really homey with kitchen utensils and really possible to cook. It's not more like a hotel, but a home with its urban room decor. I was so impressed once i entered the room. Not finish yet painted ceiling and not cemented white wall make you feel like staying at the budget apartment in New York.

The location of its hotel is so strategic, in the central of city. You can walk distance to find restaurants, convenience stores, street foods and even the bars. Close to "Monas Park", Plaza Indonesia, Hotel Indonesia Roundabouts, Gambir Station and Trans Jakarta lane.

In october i stayed in morrisey for 2 nights in studio room, the room was very beautifull with the old school design and they provide dvd player in the room, also they have so many choice channel in television.they also have a sofa to relax beside the bathroom with the shower.Morrisey is located in central jakarta,so it was very easy to go to the shopping mall like plaza indonesia and grand indonesia with only idr 10000 by taxi The only negative thing is the table for the breakfast,we have to wait to got the table for breakfast, but that was not significant, because the breakfast i very good.i will back again in march when i transit in jakarta, for idr 800000 itvis good value
