“not bad for one night staying”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

Well the first problem was to find out the hotel cause the sign of the hotel are not clear which one and there's no sign of hotel in front, only some japanesse words (for sure i cant speak japanesse).

i got the 4th floor and the lift only till the 3rd floor and i have to walk and bring all my stuff and climb the stair. (never happen to me before i have to take a lift and walk the stair to go to my room).

the room is ok, quite comfortable but the problem was no hot water... i think they need to clean or replace the carpet which is covering the hall, lift and everything cause most of them look dirty already.

last, the breakfast was not a buffet, they only give you 2 options, one indonesian menu and one international menu and it's beed decided like for monday the menu is A, tuesday the Menu is B, etc. the drink also bad, the only visible drink are coffee and if we want to ask for water, we have to ask waiter and glass the dispenser are hidden..

for the noise, it is a bit noise but it's not that disturbing as i thought it would....

I stayed 3 nights with this hotel and terribly regreted that I had prebooked with Agoda (no more!). I knew the neighborhood well but didn't suspect to find this poor level of quality. The hotel is run down, stains on carpets, roached running around, smells... I am not picky at all and can stay anywhere, but that was too much... The breakfast is very bad, and even though I had pre-paid it, I ended up eating elsewhere. The construction work going 24h a day right next to the hotel was very loud, days and nights... The staff is nice, but the hotel very very bad unfortunately. Avoid and pay an extra $15 to go to Ibis, it's worth it!

I chose this hotel for the location having stayed the previous week at the IBIS Arcadia which I really liked but which was too expensive this time around. The Luxe is basic and the wallpaper was streaked with damp patches. To make matters worse there was building work going out right outside our window and the hotels were unwilling/unable to move us to another room. I had unfortunately already pre-paid so would otherwise have walked out to another hotel. Loud thumping continued until 10pm and recommenced at 9AM. The decor everywhere was faded and I dont understand why hotels like this just dont repaint the walls every 20 years or so. Having said that the staff were friendly enough and its in a good location. The breakfast was OK and maybe when the work is finished next door (I would say in a few years) this might be an adequate place to stay but I wished I had paid $20 more for the Arcadia.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2010

The hotel was nicely presented and staff friendly and helpful. Clean room with adjustable aircon, TV, hot shower & bath tub. At breakfast you get a choice between a western or asian breakfast, which changes daily. We only stayed one night and the western breakfast was omelette, however my friend is vegan so they gave us toast and jam instead. Good central location, felt safe walking around (2 females in their 20s & 30s.)

40 minutes taxi from airport (at night with no traffic)
5 minutes taxi or 15 minutes walk to Gambir train station
10 minutes walk to the merdeka square
1 minute walk to 24 hour shop (there is a Circle K pretty much opposite)
