We arrived at 1 pm on Saturday. In typical Jakarta manner, most of the tables were occupied by couples ignoring each other, gazing at their phones with almost-empty glass on the table. Bad sign-we should have left. We were asked to wait: as non-smokers, I realize that finding a restaurant in Jakarta which keeps cigarrette smoke out of your hair, food, and nose is nearly impossible. We were seated in the bar area-which is smoking. After 30 minutes I got up to check. The hostess said we could sit outside--and indicated the patio: hot, exposed to smog and sun and with smokers. Then I asked about empty tables. She said they were reserved. When we were finally seated, the food came rapidly. I had homemade tomato soup. Terrible: too much acid, and an oversized plate of warm goat cheese salad. How do you ruin that? Too expensive for the portion size, with chili peppers (not mentioned in its description). I easily prepare a better one at home. My spouse had underfried, over priced fish and chips.
Worst part? We were paying luxury prices while continously chasing flies away from my food. They could close the glass doors and keep these pests out, but don't.
Over-priced, so-so food, slow to be seated. I'll never chose to return.
