Description: Motel Mexicola supplies you with authentic mexican cuisine not unlike that cooked in restaurants, served on street corners and in homes in Mexico. Our two mexican chefs we have working in our kitchen is a testament to that. Specialising in Mexican Tapas our menu is designed for you to share. Ask our staff to order for you so you can experience the menu the way it is meant to be ordered and take a journey with us through the different flavours of Mexico. Be warned though, if its tex-mex you are after this is not what we do. We do fresh, fun interactive food that will make you want to come back for more. We guarantee you will love it!!

“Great atmosphere and good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

When you first walk into this place, it's pretty amazing. The decor and effort that they've gone to to ensure a fun and interesting atmosphere is impressive. We were a group of 7 and were quickly attended to by the owner (we assumed he was the owner - he was Australian and seemed to be in charge) who said he'll put together a concoction of different dishes for us for about $12 each. Naturally we agreed. He also put in an order for us for a couple of margarita jugs.

The food was pretty good and the margaritas were delicious! The only catch was that the margarita jugs that he sneakily added to our order were $40 each. Still a pretty cheap meal by Australian standards but we did feel a bit ripped off. Highly recommend going there and would definitely go back but if you're looking for a cheap night out, maybe stick to beer!

“Trippy Ambiance, Good Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

There are a lot of mexican cantinas in Bali, and frankly I had low expectations. The decor is fun (Mexico on acid?), the drinks are delicious; a really enthusiastic Aussie (the owner perhaps) guy ordered a series of little bite sized dishes for our party, including dishes for our picky vegetarian friends. Worth the experience if you're in the neighborhood.

“fun place, great mexican”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

As fans of Rojo Rocket here in Australia we were keen to visit motel mexicola.
The place is very cool with a great atmosphere. The owner also came and had a chat with us, which was a nice touch. Our waiter was also super knowledgable and helpful. The cocktails and drinks were awesome and so was the food. We had an awesome night and will definitely return.

“Great atmosphere and drinks.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

I'm Mexican so this is a tough call. I love the small portion tacos but I can see how some people might think it's not enough. The corn tortillas are so small but thin and light and oh so delicious. The al pastor is not what I am used to, having said that they are very authentic. The prawn tacos were outstanding! The chicken were wonderful too. I tasted notes of all the traditional Mexican spices. I have to say, the staff were a bit clueless. It would have been nice to get some direction but they seemed not to know anything about the very limited menu. The credit card machine would not work so they offered to scooter us to an ATM. I guess all in all it was a mixed bag. The table in front of us walked out because the wait staff could not direct them or answer questions about the menu.

“Great drinks, not sure about the tacos”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

The atmosphere is great and the decor bright and colourful. The Coco Cabana cocktail was a pleasant surprise. We tried the pork, chicken and vegetarian tacos. They were good but not great. Go there for the drinks.....
