If you think about visiting Bali, you should also think about learning their national sport, surfing! If you are looking for a surf school where you feel like going surfing with friends and next to surfing to learn something about Bali’s culture from a local teacher who has been surfing for his whole life and grew up here in Bali and you prefer lessons with less than 4 students, then Baruna Surf Culture is your address!
I took some lessons with Adi and Irene and those days were one of the best during my 4 week stay here on Bali. I learned so much from them: What I have to know about the waves (where and how they break), the different kind of breaks (reef and beach), in which degrees the wave should be when you have to stand up and one of the most important things I learned was having a good time and so much fun out there catching a wave and even when you get smashed by it!
I needed a little bit longer before I stood my first wave, cause most of the time my paddling was not that good and so I was too slow, but Adi and Irene always tried to „push“ me. Everytime I try to catch a wave now, I can hear them: „Paddle, paddle, faster, stronger!!!“ :)
You can see, how much Adi and Irene love to surf and to teach everything they know! Both of them had always good tips, it doesn't matter if you need something for surfing or an advice where to go on Bali or just where to find an good bikini!
So I have to thank you for teaching me so much and having such a great time out there and feeling a little bit at home! Take care of you and I know, we will meet again! Berni :)
