“It's was great... until the massive bathroom spiders.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

We stayed here one night in February of 2013

The Good:
Immaculate Gardens
Clean Bedroom with tons of teak
The owner - Tommy - is super friendly. He guided our taxi driver and checked us in late-night.

The Bad:
Nothing really until...

The Ugly:
Spiders. Massive Bathroom Spiders. This is a bungalow in Bali, so a few bugs and critters running around isn't a big deal. But these things were huge, fast, numerous and hiding under every rock in the loose-stone bathroom. Not a very relaxing place to do your business. We stayed in Bali for 2 months and saw nothing like what we saw here.

Room Tip: Check the Bathroom and kick a few stones around. Perhaps they aren't all infested with 8-legged...

Excellent location to escape to from Kuta - very quiet and relaxing. Tommy is a bit of a dude and there are some great warungs on Bingin Beach that you can walk to (5 mins down the cliff) for breakfast. Would happily stay again.

Bingin is a lovely and beautiful side for surf and for take a bath with a clean water and a good quality of air after weeks in Seminiak or Kuta.It is so "raw" and savage with few people on the beach.

We had 1D/1N to kill in Bali before flying on to Jakarta and didn't want to be surrounded by the drunken chaos of Kuta and Legian. We heard that Bingin was a chilled alternative and booked a room by phone at Bingin Garden. What a great decision.

It's really friendly, very laid back and in a beautiful location with relaxing gardens in which to sit back and enjoy the sunshine.

The pro's:
* Beautiful spot on the Bali coastline, walking distance of the surfer beaches
* Really clean and spacious rooms, very well decorated with excellent bathrooms
* Very friendly welcome and helpful staff
* We paid 250,000Rp (about $26) for a large private cottage with our own balcony, overlooking the gardens
* The staff can organise taxi back to airport or on to other locations - a bit on the expensive side but really nice A/C car
* Very quiet so peaceful sleep

The con's:
* Bit out the way when you want shops - there are a few basic restaurant/bars on the walk down the cliffs, about 10mins but nearest town is a 10min ride by motorbike or 45min walk
* The breakfast is way too expensive but it's a long walk to somewhere else

We'd definitely come back. It's on the expensive side for Indonesia but it's worth the splurge. We had one of the best night's sleep on our travels.

thanks james
