“A most relaxing, tranquil resort with fantastic facilities for diving enthusiasts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2010

From being picked up at the airport to being dropped of again 2 weeks later this was the most realxing holiday I've had for some years.

The reason for the visit was some well deserved rest and a lot of diving both of which were achieved.

First the Diving, the house reef alone would have been enough to keep us entertained for 2 weeks but with Tulamben just 10 minutes down the road and many more sites close by, the diving was amazing. The wreck at first light is something to see.

The staff are very attentive; I found the pillow very high but one mention to the owners and a whole selection of pillows arrived in my room for me to chose from.

The menu was enough for 2 weeks variety but the kitchen staff were more than happy to adjust meals to fit your dietry requirements so the possibilities were endless really. Everything was home cooked even the bread each morning, do try the chocolate brownies a lot of effort has gone into perfecting them. The cocktails were great, my favourite being the Pinacolada, around 3 Euros, there was also a choice of wine as well as the usual beers and spirits.

The Spa, a small roofed building with no walls but screens and curtains, was very good value with the 1 hour massages ranging from 15 to 19 Euros. I tried the Bali massage the aromatherapy massage and the coconut wrap, all of which were amazing.

The resort it's self was clean and well kept, with 8 bungalows and 1 family bungalow, an infinity pool and enough loungers for a full house. Each bungalow has a patio area with 2 chairs and a table, a king sized bed, a desk, and a shower room. The mini bar contains a selection of drinks and snacks all priced the same as at the bar.

The beach, as with many in North Bali, was large pebbles rather than sand so boots required to get into the sea.

Wow, what a fantastic place! Stayed for 11 nights with a specific plan for relaxation and scuba diving.

We were not dissapointed!

This place is excellently run by the owners Ulrik and Rikke (Danish), Marco and Gabby (Swiss) with a great combination of efficiency and relaxation. Their aim to make sure you enjoy your stay and they're always around to ensure everything is running as it should.

Rooms were spacious, cleaned every day and turned down in the evening too. We stayed in one of the 4 beach bungalows and it was excellent. Close enough to the beach, the bar, restaurant, pool and dive centre.

All the staff whether it be reception, bar, kitchen, waiter, cleaner, gardener or dive centre were ALWAYS very friendly and happy. Nothing was too much trouble.

The food is excellent and very, very reasonably priced too. Even the snacks and drinks in the mini bar are the same price as the bar. No paying extra here! A good selection of Balinese dishes, which were superb. I don't think I ate anything European while being here, well except the great Kubu Inda Breakfast and the not to be missed Chocolate Brownie, wow that's so good!

We were here to dive but excursions and other activities could easily be arranged for you, whether it be shopping or rafting, walking up a mountain or whatever. The point being, if you fancied doing something, just ask and they'll likely sort something out.

Now the diving. Wow, fantastic. Very well run dive centre with all of the owners being instructors too. The house reef is superb with excellent coral with also deep reefs too with a chance of spotting some reef sharks, baracuda etc. We spent many great dives on there seeing new stuff all the time.

We did some diving excursions to Tulamben (10 mins), Amed (30 mis) and Seraya (40 mins) to some really great sites, including the Liberty Wreck, which we dived about 3 times, once at night and that was brilliant.

Lots of macro stuff and it takes a couple of days to get your focus but when you do, wow! Ghost Pipefish, Pygmy Seahorses, Leaf Fish, Frog Fish, loads of different shrimp and so many different Nudibranch. Incredible.

Kubu Indah is located on Bali's less touristy, North Eastern coast, where the macro diving is at its best. Very quiet. A wonderful place to stay. We would go back again tomorrow.
