“Ahimsa delivers AGAIN!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

My family and I have recently come back from our 6th year in a row in Seminyak and feel compelled to recommend Ahimsa Estate to fellow travellers to Bali.

Over the years we have stayed in the each of the 1, 2 and 3 Bedroom Villas at Ahimsa Estate as my wife and I have evolved from a lovestruck couple, married with a small baby and now with 2 boys aged 6 and 4.

Our most recent stay was in Villa C which is a sumptuously appointed 3 Bedroom Villa at Ahimsa Estate. Before going in to more detail on the Villa itself, what stands Ahimsa Estate is the stunning location which in my opinion is one of the best in Seminyak. Located a mere 1 minute walk to Ku de ta and the beach, Ahimsa Estate is perfect for families who want to be very close to the beach which allows you pop there for a walk before breakfast, swim in the morning, sunset cocktails etc, all without needing to get a taxi or have a long hot walk. It is literally a minute away. It is also very close to all of the famous restaurants of Seminyak, treatments at Body Works etc. In a word, the location is unsurpassed.

The Villa itself was very large, open, airy and with a stunning pool. The attentive staff were always on hand to answer any question, drive us to where we wanted, and always ensured the villa was spotless every day. Breakfasts were a highlight with the staff cooking a delicious meal of eggs, fruit and brewed Balinese coffee.

In summary, great location and fantastic villa.

We will definitely be back again next year!

Room Tip: Villa C is the best if you have 3 or more children or perfect for 2 couples.

I'd just like to say, Thank you to all at the Ahimsa Estate for making are week in Bali so special. Thank you Made the general manager, he up-graded are villa, Katut our driver for waiting so long at the airport from our late arrival flight. Breakfast was superb everyday. The Villa was spotless and very accommodating friendly staff. The Villa are it the place to be, very quite but everything, bars, restaurants all close by, easy if you want to walk a little and very handy for a taxi. The staff arranged a Bar-be-cue one evening in the villa which i would recommend. O... and also massage amazing........2 hrs of bliss. Incredible.

Room Tip: 3 bedroom villa, lot of room great pool

We have recently returned from our annual Bali holiday and our 8th stay at The Ahimsa Estate Seminyak. These amazingly located Villa's are our second home!
Our Villa requirements have changed over the years and Ahimsa has accommodated us perfectly each visit. As a couple in a one bedroom villa, then onto the newly decorated two bedroom villla's, now the entire family enjoy the big 3 bedroom 'beauty'! The villa is very large but not too big and from all areas outside you have view of the pool. We love the villa 's decor, furniture, space and location, not to mention the same wonderful staff each year.
Many new Villa's have been built in Seminak over the last few years and they are crammed inside sprawling areas that spread for kilometers. They are often listed as central Seminyak but in fact are a long way from the beach and/restaurants. Getting taxis in and out of the labyrinth is a pain! Ahimsa Estate is under 5 minutes walk to the beach and equally as close to everything Seminyak has to offer on foot. Another quick highlight is the daily villa housekeeping. A team arrive each morning and meticulously clean and tidy every single area of the villa and gardens. I can't recommend The Ahimsa Estate highly enough.
See you next year!

I've never been so disappointed in a $500 USD per night villa. Every villa we went to after we arrived, to check and verify was better!!

The smell in the pool and in the bathrooms was unbelievable. In fact we complained about it after two days and tried to get our money back but fat chance of that. They said that we should stay for the two weeks and then take it up with them.

As far as the staff go, they did their best while acknowledging that we weren't happy. In fact one if the girls said she was so sad for us and had tears.

The worst thing though is the website photos. Shots of beautiful rooms, pools, grassed areas and many other features are simply not true. We asked the staff where the photos were taken (thinking we had the dud villa) but thy said "other Ahimsa" one again we felt duped and would recommend that you do your due diligence before you fall into a $6000 accommodation bill like I did.

Paid $400aud per night for 3 nights.
Stayed in the 2 brm villa.

Second brm/bathroom had a funny smell.
Tiles need fixing throughout whole villa incl outside.
Kitchen & cupboards need upgrade/renovating.
We requested a driver to take us to Canggu (15-20 mins away) & were told we had to pay $15aud, yet it took us longer to get a free ride to Kuta??? So the "free" driver is questionable..

Regardless of having paid the special rate on website, after taxes etc are added it was expensive for what you got.

Breakfast was ok.

Only positives are the lovely staff and having your own space away from busy hotels.

We enjoyed our four night stay at Hard Rock Hotel much better than here, and at a better price.

If you are staying here, there is a massage place just outside $6aud for 1 hour massage. Also a small market next door with nice cafès. We ate at Whacko Burgers four times. Excellent food and yummy milkshakes. Highly recommend it!!

Also 2 doors from Ku De Ta Restaurant.

Unfortunately, I would not recommend booking here until it has been upgraded.

I wrote a longer review on the Ahimsa site but essentially we loved the villa. The one bedroom was very spacious and the pool is actually quite large.

Quiet spot but right next door to the Oberoi hotel and 2 minutes from Ku De Ta, close to Sea Circus and markets.

Separate airport pick up and drop offs and a late checkout were arranged for us with no trouble. Nice brekkie cooked in your villa everyday (remember to order the night before).

Very happy with our stay!

Room Tip: The one bedroom villa is great for a couple. There is some road noise when you are sitting out in t...

Location is really good if you plan to stay central ...... BUT IS THIS THE JUSTIFICATION FOR RUN DOWN VILLAS AT SUCH PRICES? Breakfast was just O.K., Service was unflexible but friendly, towels were old and urg. But specially the condition of the villa was outdated .....advertizing a luxury villa is really questionable !! GUESS THE OWNER SHOULD TAKE PART OF ITS INCOME TO RENOVATE FROM TIME TO TIME AND CHECK THE CONDITIONS BY HIMSELF. THERE ARE BETTER OFFERS IN BALI.
