The few people who write reviews when they haven't even eaten here really annoy me. Of course the waiters are brusque and why should they worry about hurting your ego because you allow them to intimidate you? They've been running this very successful, very authentic eatery for many decades and they do it with military precision. A smile will take you a long way and you will get good service! The Peking duck is the reason for coming here but we tried vegetable dishes and the deep fried shrimp which were also great! The chef put on a real show carving up the duck for us and making the pancakes was such fun! To those reviewers who expected cooked American pancakes (!) are you serious? You're in China, they've made this dish for 1000s of YEARS! It's not McDonalds or Denny's! Also, the duck skin is the delicacy - crispy and saucy and tasty! OF COURSE IT'S FATTY- it's duck skin! Clearly we had a great time and the restaurant was full of locals, families, some tourists and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Prices are also great - keep in mind that $300 HK for a duck is less than $40 US and one duck easily feeds 4 people! Go here if you want a truly Chinese experience and if you are adventurous. Don't go if you want it to be a 5* experience that caters to namby pambies!
