“Authentic French cooking at the Landmark”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

Richard Ekkebus has managed to pull off quite a coup.
His menus stay true to the principles of haute cuisine reflecting his training in the kitchens of three of the greats, Pierre Gagnaire, Alain Passard and Guy Savoy.
One could have easily utilized the local ingredients and influences from the Asian larder but would have diluted the strong traditions, principles and identity of the French kitchen
He has included more texture in his cooking but has avoided over-playing the use of umami in its various forms to cater to local taste
Our meal started out with a raspberry foie gras lolly-pop, crab bites and a very well made selection of bread
Cured Saba Mackerel buckwheat/squid-ink tuille/escebeche/vine tomato and bell pepper broth
Australian Wagyu skirt steak/black olive glazed gnocchi/fricasse of purple artichoke/violin zucchini
Marie Quatrehomme matured cheese
2010 Domaine André Moingeon Pinot Noir
Stellar 3000 bottle wine list from John Chan featuring the great and the good
Intelligent well considered mouth-watering cooking with attentive un-obtrusive serving staff
I was invited to have a tour of the kitchens and meet the Head Chef Maxime which was a nice touch.
Next time I am in Hong Kong the great man himself may be in residence?
My only gripe was the choice of jazz music which I found to be a little on the loud side

“Meal of the decade”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

Shared a meal with friends and family to celebrate a special occasion and had a fantastic time in a relaxed environment. Staff was very attentive, yet not pushy as they can sometimes be in highly rated restaurants like this. Food was sublime and innovative and the sommelier did an amazing job pairing the food with the wines.
