I come to Hong Kong a lot for business and I always manage to make time to dine at Nara Thai restaurant at least once per trip. The restaurant is located in the park and has a large outdoor seating area and a small indoor seating area. I never sit outside as it's always filled with smokers - but inside is actually quite nice, quaint with Thai music playing and seems newly redecorated.
The pad thai here is so good. Recently I went with a friend and we also had Tom Yum Mussels (excellent) and BBQ skewer of eel (fantastic!). Love the thai coffee (though sweet). They do have a happy hour which is buy 1 get 1.
The staff is attentive and polite and speak English well. On one trip I left my credit card at the restaurant. When I discovered it was missing the next day I went back to Nara and they had put it in the safe for me. Trust me when I saw this is not something I would expect at many small HK restaurants so now I am loyal for life!
