Whenever we travel, my husband and I try to make our last night special. This usually means dinner at a nice restaurant, spending more than we normally would. We try to ask locals / hotel staff for their opinions and recommendations. When we were in Hong Kong we asked the front desk at our hotel to make us a reservation somewhere special, fun, good food and preferably with a view. They sent us to Aqua Spirit. When we first arrived at the building we thought we were in the wrong place. It's not a hotel, ( I don't think) it seems more like an office building and there weren't a lot of people around. We knew the restaurant was on the top floor so we took the elevator to the top and when the doors open it was another interesting experience. I won't describe it just in case any of you out there choose to check it out but it made us ask ourselves "are we in the right place?" We were promptly greeted and then taken through these very cool doors and WOW. What a great room. That's an understatement actually. You could see all of Victoria Harbour all lit up. They took us to our small table right up against this huge and extremely tall windows - you can even get a bit dizzy in there. We had a perfect view of the light show during our meal which made the evening different and memorable, exactly what we wanted. The restaurant is dark and trendy which was great, if you like a little glitz and glam I'm sure you'll like this place. The food was excellent - I had a tempura prawn cocktail starter and it was delicious. Drinks and wine were great - we didn't have anything we didn't enjoy. Now for the majority of us out there this place is VERY expensive! If you are going to Hong Kong and have never been it is VERY expensive (IMO). This was the most we have ever spent on dinner and we have had some pretty nice dinners at top restaurants and hotels. I think our bill was around $350USD for two people.....and no we did not order very expensive wine or anything like that.....just to give you an example I believe my appetizer was like $30 or $40. I'm not going to say whether it was worth it or not because we all have different views on this of course, but we had a great night that is a great memory. If this sounds like something you'd enjoy I don't think you'd be disappointed. One last note, it is a lively atmosphere ..... definitely buzzing with music, people talking, glasses clinking, etc. If you are looking for something quite and intimate this is not it. If I remember correctly for us, the service was very good.
