“Good Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

We stayed for a week over the Chinese New Year. The room was a good size for Hong Kong and we got an upgrade to a harbour view which really made it. The tram stop is just around the corner and the bus to the airport leaves outside.

Room Tip: try to get a harbour view

We had a short stay at this hotel while sightseeing in Hongkong. Some would say the location is not ideal but you can easily get a cab if you don't like to wait for their free shuttle. There are small eateries around - they are not fancy at all. No complaints there as our goal is to explore Hongkong. I would stay here again if I were travelling for business. They have good internet. Our room is exactly the same as the one on their website, with a good view. The room is a bit small but they did make great use of the space. Some guests would not be bothered to get out to smoke and it's noticeable in the shower and the hallway starting in the afternoon but the staff does a great job of cleaning so in the mornings it smells fresh again. I also love the breakfast, not the lounge breakfast but the cafe. It's a bit expensive but with buffet breakfast like that, I think it's worth it.

Stayed here two nights in an Executive Harbour View room with access to the club lounge on 6/F (free hot breakfast and beverages throughout the day). The lobby and location are just average, but cabs are affordable and plentiful so not really an issue.

Rooms: Huge for HK, cleanliness was great, Harbour View rooms had perfect views of the Harbour and almost felt I was next to the edge of the water. Since this is Sai Wan, the opposing view is more Kowloon West than TST.

Amenities: Small but adequate gym, buffet style cafe on the 2/F (food decent but not great), access to the club lounge was a nice perk.

Service: No complaints here, concierge and service staff were friendly and efficient.

Location: in a rather "local" area with not much nearby shopping and dining options to speak of but a short cab ride (US$3) to Central. There is a hotel shuttle to IFC but comes only every hour.

Overall this was a good value for money option and would recommend it to anyone seeking a comfortable, spacious room without paying through the nose for something in Central.

This hotel is well set up as a business hotel - good free wifi, executive lounge, good location - but is let down by a limited restuarant. It's really only a cafe. I stayed here for three nights and liked it but I had to travel to other hotels to buy my colleagues a high quality lunch.

I stayed at this hotel whilst in HK on business. Our office is in Kowloon, and this hotel is a perfect location for that and for central. The hotel is only 5 mins cab from central, but is a good deal cheaper than comparable hotels in town. The service is fantastic, and the rooms are all nicely renovated

will definitely stay here again

The hotel is a bit difficult to locate as it's about 10m from the main road and not accessible by the subway in Hong Kong. The hotel room is small but should be a bit big in Hong Kong style. It's a very clean and seems rennovated not long ago. The sea view is stunning and very relaxing. Especially when you're enjoying the wine near the table at the side of windows. The executive lounge is a small one. Overall I do love the hotel as the price is reasonable compare with other 4* hotel nearby.

It is a Courtyard, not a real Marriott! For half the price of the Renaissance and 1/3 the price of the Marriott, you have to accept less: no real lobby, only a drafty waiting area, a location that is not prime, a simple restaurant that will serve reasonable food when you are hungry and don't want to go out.

The rooms are nice, large enough for one and a little small for two. The bed is very good and very clean. Everything you need is there. Staff is nice and attentive. Air conditioning works well and heats if necessary. (not standard in Asia!)

The location is not where the shopping is. To go there, you either need a taxi, or take a tram which is in front of the hotel and offers almost free sightseeing, or a bus. If you like to walk, in half an hour through an interesting commercial area (dried food) you are at Central.

Room Tip: If you don't need 2 beds, ask for one single bed, there will be more space left.
