We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this hotel. It is still a work in progress but our floor was fine. The hotel staff were nice, helpful and very polite. This was our first visit to Hong Kong so I was concerned with the room size. We had asked for an upgrade to a harbourview room and the request was granted. The room size was more than adequate and we felt it was as big as hotels rooms in the U.S. We had a safe in the room along with a hair dryer and small refridgerator. There were 2 queen sized beds that were very hard! This did not bother us though, but what was strange was the lack of an alarm clock. T.V. was fine but not much to watch, but who needs that when you are in such a wonderful city? The bathroom was fine and if you check our pictures you will see that it is seperated by a glass wall. If you wanted to you could take a bath and look out your window for a view. It has a large and deep tub and the whole room is rather modern.
The area is about a 20 minute ride by the MTR from most venues but we never did mind the ride. If you take some time to walk around you will find a very large and intersting fish market across the street from the entrance. There are other stalls and vegetable markets close by there as well.
The hotel is situated between the Tsuen Wan KCR and MTR stations and both are about equidistant. One night we came home on the MTR and lost our bearings and could not find the hotel. We hailed a cab and neither he nor his dispatcher had any idea where the hotel was. We got in another cab and he did not know either, and after talking again with his dispatcher he finally was given directions. After this incident I requested a card from the hotel with the name in Chinese and kept it in my wallet.
If you book this hotel try to get the breakfast buffet. It was not the most elaborate but always had juice, cereal, yogurt, sausage, bacon, toast, noodles, eggs and a chinese dish that was delicious. This hotel is still in a process of learning how to function but the staff is great and very courteous.
We would have no problem staying here again, and if we do I hope the pool will be open by then.
