“Great for budget travel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

It's value for money for budget traveller. We paid about S$100/night for two nights. The room is tiny just enough for a double bed and little space to move around. Toilet/shower room is just enough for an average size people. Three rooms to a floor and a single lift serves all floor. It can be quite a wait during rush hour. Curtain is not much to block the sunlight so the room get quite bright early in the morning. Natural morning call for some. Although the room is average, the location is superb. Only about 2 minutes walk from Yau Ma Tei MTR exit C. So it's very convenient to move around HK from there. Temple street is just around the corner and only 10 - 15 minutes walk to Mong Kok, the famous local shopping district. Food outlets and shops are downstairs so you will find the place very interesting. In fact, it's highly recommended for you to try out local supper (after 9, 10pm) downstairs. You can find claypot rice, 牛杂, 椒盐瀬尿虾, fried bean paste clams etc local delicacies right outside the hotel.

Very near to MRT around 2 mins walk, walkable distance to Mongkok and YauMaTei probably 15min walk. A few restaurants around too. The place is a bit dodgy cos located on backlane though the hotel lobby was nicely decorated. They have a nice top floor open air garden. But wont be staying here unless im on a tight budget- the room was extremely small! Bathroom was worse cos i couldnt move much- i weighed less than 50kg btw! The room i was staying even had a fake window with curtains. And the shower temperature was fluctuating- imagine when the water turned cold suddenly during winter!

Although the location is good but still feel a bit pricy for the room rate they are charging. If you like shopping and eating and on a very tight budget, this may be a good choice for you. If you can afford higher rate, go for a more reputable ones.

Start with the good; Very well located in the very local district of Kowloon side, right near the shopping and market streets, street food; The bed was comfortable (even though single and very narrow) and the shower was hot; I arrived at 9am and after a debate they did give me a room for no extra charge.
The bad: the smallest possible room, I had to sit on the bed to look in my suitcase; to get to the room, I had to cross two fire doors and walk through strange corridors, bathroom not really clean
The ugly: staff couldn't give a toss, I could hear the guy coughing next door like he was with me in my room, and needed ear plugs to sleep.

Room was small but service is quite well. In our last day they charged us only for half day stay 12 noon to 6 PM instead of full day rate. Service was quite warm compared to other staff in other hotels we frequently encountered in HK. They charged us for 3-persons per room although the room is basically for 2 single bed only. They added a foldable bed which made impossible to move around because the folding bed occupied even the corner space. In the end we had to remove the extra bed.Shower, toilet bowl seat, electric kettle were damaged and not repaired. Hotel staff/cleaners were little bit noisy doing their hotel chores. Positive points: got mineral water when we arrived, near to MTR YauMaTei station, ladies market, night market, etc. I will stay again if I have no budget. Be prepare to wait for few minutes for 1 service elevator.

The hotel has the smallest room & bathroom I've ever seen! Amazingly small. I've had mere nightmare everytime I think about it (esp the bathroom) when heading back to our room for the day.
Regardless though, it's located at the greatest location for anyone to experience street life of Hong Kong. This makes the rooms get booked fast at all times.
So, if you're small sized, then should be OK. Otherwise, if you're over 40 or Over 185cm, think carefully before booking.
