“Easy way to travel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

Best way to get up the steep hill. Exit points all along the journey make this the best way to see mid level. There are some great shops, restaurants and bars along the way. Make sure you get off and explore the side streets then hope back on.

“Makes a long trip very do-able”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

Short trip to Hollywood road for antique browsing, has rejuvenated the Soho area. Wandered down Hollywood rd browsing and found Man Mo temple, well worth a visit.

“20-30 min ride”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

A quick ride on the escalators took us only less than 30min. A reminder to do a U turn back down the escalators. We lost our way after we explored further at the top. Lots of eateries along the way. It's worth exploring this mode of transport used by the locals to travel up and downhill.

“Best way to walk around downtown”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014

One of the things I loved about this city is its pedestrian-friendly attitude. The downtown area is hilly and steep, so the roads don't seem to follow a square grid, so to make it easier for pedestrians, there are to things that make it easy:
1. The Mid-Level Escalators --- These rise for blocks and blocks. I felt like I went up the escalators for about 30 blocks, but I really don't know how far it was in actuality. The neat thing is you will pass restaurants, shops and pubs along the way... You can hop off at your favourite block. Now, I do believe the elevators work like this: They go downwards (i.e towards downtown) in the mornings until 10 am, and head upwards from 10 am to perhaps 1am? I'm not sure but it late into the night. There are staircases next to the escalators.

“Good experience! A must!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

We started from the lowest point to the highest point with this escalator. In between stop by for foods and photograph. Have to say that there are lots of good food along the exit in between. Do stop by each exit and grab some foods. A good experience.
