“Liked the location and price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013 via mobile

Location is perfect, within walking distance to MTR, ladies market, food, drink, fa yuan street. Elevator is old but no need to wait for so long.
Room is super basic, hair everywhere on the bed sheet and blanket. Am wondering if it was washed before we checked in.
Got small TV in the room which we didn't use at all, as we used the plug for charging mobile phones (only 1 plug in the room).
They provide hot and cool water, which was really nice.
Bathroom was tiny and mouldy, but nice that they provide water heater.
Staff no smile, just did their job as a robot.
Will probably stay there again for the location and price, but next time I'll bring a big silk scarf to cover the pillow and part of the bed.

I just love this hostel where it located at the center of Mong Kok. The Mong Kok that never sleep. Even after mid night you can still see a lot of people around. The room & bathroom are small but not a problem for us as we just needed a place to stay and sleep. Other than that everything are just perfect. The room & bathroom are clean and the bed are just nice.

We have a very comfortable 2 nights sleep. There's a small pantry with fridge, electric kettle, & microwave just in case if you need your supper to be reheat or a instant noodles cup to be fill with hot water, they got everything that you need. They didn't provide any towel so you might need to bring your own towel or just purchase with them.

Just opposite of the hostel there are 7-eleven convenience store, 24-hours McDonald's, 24-hours coffee shop which serve the best breakfast suck as pork porridge, milk tea, chinese you tiao and etc. Price are affordable too and a lot of street food that you couldn't resist. Must try are the hong kong eggette and curry fish ball. I ate plenty of it while i was in hong kong!

There are easy to get around mong kok area. Nearest MRT from the hostel are just 5 minutes away. Walking to "ladies street" are like just 3 minutes away which you just have to cross to the opposite road and voila! you have reach the ladies street! Stanley been very helpful upon checking out and help us with the ferry tickets as we will be heading to macau after being 3 days at hong kong. I'll definitely stay over at this hostel if next time i be around at hong kong because i just love mong kok!

We stayed at Dragon Hostel two times during our travel in Asia.
The rooms are clean and we got a 5 bed room for 4 persons, that meant we had one bed for luggage.
The rooms are very small but in Hong Komg standard on average.
The reason for picking the place is definitely the location. Living in centrum of Mong Kok makes traveling around the city very easy.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the big road, they are more qiuet.

The first impression you get from the hostel is a very good feel of the Hong Kong crammed lifestyle (it is located literally in the heart of the most densely populated district in the world - Mong kok).

With SO many people around, naturally things are very small, single rooms are probably not more than 3x2m; however, they each have a powerful air conditioning system. Not a good idea if you're claustrophobic.
Bathrooms are also very small; specially since they have the stereotypical Asian layout where the bathroom was once just a "half-bathroom "(toilet + sink) and a shower head was added literally high above the toilet, providing you with a unique opportunity to "kill two birds with one stone"

The building is a bit old, so yes, if you're looking for something modern or fancy, this is definitely not it.

Good things: Location (convenient and safe), value, clean, quiet, washing machines (and laundry service !!), good internet.

Possible opportunity areas: some rooms don't have windows, not everyone in the staff speaks good English, but it doesn't take long for them to find THE English speaker to help you.

Recommended :)

Room Tip: Rooms without windows are way quieter, since they are not on the side of the building.

The room was very narrow - understandable for a place like HK. The 3 of us shared this very small space consist of a single bed and a double decker, with an en suite bathroom for 2 nights. The bathroom / toilet was way too small and water pressure was not really good. No towels were provided - they informed us before hand during booking. Plenty of stuff to eat and shop (Ladies' Street) with MTR nearby. You would have your hands full even if you decided not to go anywhere and just hang around the vicinity of the hostel - food and street shopping.

Conclusion: Budget accommodation with good access to public transportation, food and street shopping.

With every bit of space in Hong Kong being overly expensive, Dragon Hostel within the premises of Sincere House in Argyle Street is a great find! Sure you can easily get intimidated by how the outside looks but give it an overnight stay and you'll get the hang of it. If you're a tourist, you won't be spending most of your time indoors, anyway. For around P1100 per head per night, you'd certainly get enough value for your money--a clean room with a double deck bed, private toilet/bathroom, fast 24-hour WiFi connection and free supply of toilet paper and drinking water. Perfect for backpackers.. and it's just a minute's walk to the Mong Kok train station!

Located at the heart of Mongkok, probably the heart of Kowloon, Hong Kong. Perfect location of this hostel, you could access to everyway of Hong Kong via the extremely convenience MTR, 24h buses or by you could simply find the great shopping and foods in walking distance.

However, the hostel generally is clean, but exactly too narrow, no towel provided. Conclusion, it's not suitable for family or you are a couple begin in the sweet time!

The front desk is polite and helpful. It need to be highlighted.... It's Hong Kong, you have no choice if you with less accommodation budget.
