Excellent location, cleanliness is average, staff is very accomodating. One of the downside is the water heater. It takes quite some time for the water to heat up. You will get a spray of cold water in the middle of a hot shower and wait for about 10 mins. for the water to heat up again. Also, it would be very convenient for the guests if they provided free towels. They are selling towels at HK$30 a piece. Room size is about the same as other hostels in Hong Kong. Security of the building is quite good. There are cctv cameras in almost every corner of the building and the hostel hallways.
You will have a hard time locating the building (Sincere House) where the hostel is located since there is only a very small, about half of a short bondpaper that says "SINCERE HOUSE".
A tip in finding Sincere House:
If you are arriving by train (MTR), take exit D3, go straight then cross the street. Walk the whole block, cross the street (Tung Choi St. - you will find a lot of coaster-like busses parking) towards the store selling street food. Right beside the store is a money changer (Western Union). Beside the money changer is stainless door. That is the Sincere House. Take note however that this door is only open until 11:45 PM.
If you are arriving past 11:45 PM, walk for another block (along Argyle St., not along Tung Choi St.), then turn left (before crossing the street). The first stainless door is to the left is Sincere House.
Location is excellent. There is a 7-11 across the street and a McDonalds half a block away. About 3 money changers and lots of Chinese restaurants are nearby.
Across the street (Argyle St.) is the ladies market.
If you are packing a towel with you when you travel (which I usually don't), then you won't be disappointed with Dragon Hostel. Computer with internet connection is available to use for free, free wifi in rooms, excellent location, what more can you ask for (except for the free towel :D )?
I would rate this hostel a 4 out of 5 with 5 as the highest. We never booked a hotel again in our Hong Kong trips ever since we started trying out hostels (but only in Hong Kong). We only need a place to sleep, shower and leave our things while out enjoying the city. The money you save from staying is hostels can be used in shopping. Just make sure it's safe.
Enjoy and be safe!
