“A good stay at a good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

Stayed here for a couple nights while waiting to join a larger group on the Kowloon side, glad I was here first. The hotel was a bit farther from Hong Kong Station than I had envisioned, but it gave me the opportunity to ride the double deck buses with the typhoon windows. If you can manage it, get a room that faces the water.

The room was excellent, bed was very comfortable and it had a giant shower. I would not hesitate staying here again, but would prefer being somewhere closer to TST or Central.

Remember it's Hong Kong. The room is spacious considering the price i paid was very reasonable and they updated me to a suite. furniture and facility is a bit old but functioning, tidy and clean. Only the position of the TV comparing to bed is a little weird.
Location is a short tram/taxi transit away from Sheung Kwan, so it's convenient. Staff were efficient. The hotel lobby is not very bright but you don't live in the lobby anyway.
It was totally worth it.

This is more of a functional hotel rather than a pleasant hotel. I was visiting with my friend in HK.

1. The beds are extremely hard. It was impossible to get comfortable in the bed as I do not like my bed that firm.

2. It was clean and the furniture was dated however we hardly hang out in the room.

3. The show was powerful however it was a really small cubicle.

4. It was really conienent location for the tram which was great for all the travels.

5. The rooms are really cold and we asked for additional duvets as there were none in the room.

Overall, it was an OK hotel however will most probable not give it a try again for my next visit to HK.

Our HongKong friend booked this hotel for us. I was surpised that our 2 rooms turned out to be a Harbourview Suite. We were welcomed with a little hicup at the front desk but was quickly resolved by GRO Eunice.

We went to our room to settle down and Room Service came with a small fruit plate. Indeed a very good service.

Room only has Queen size bed with relatively ok pillow. I read reviews about bed bugs and all and got me paranoid. Relatively clean room and spacious wardrobe space.

The stand shower was a little too small for my hubby and something which i did not like about this hotel. With that space for the stand shower cubicle, they could have done something better with shower curtain instead or take away the dressing table and make into a bathtub?

the room service is little costly but food is nice.

The Cafe at level 5 with a price tag of HKD88 for breakfast was ok without too fancy food. The Lady at the counter asked for my room number and i given her the 1st room number and she came hunting me down and exclaimed that its wrong. I gave her another room number and she then said correct. Thereafter she asked for payment. Bet she worried that we ate and ran off without paying.

The Concierge was very helpful. They called us on the eve of departure to check if we needed transport to Airport. Both Bell Boy Tim and George is very very helpful and even shared with us the Login & Password at the Lobby for the wifi.

Outside the Hotel has DingDing (Tram) service to MTR. Very convenient.

The rooms here are clean and relatively spacious for a Hong Kong hotel. Make sure to specify your room configuration when you place the reservation: the rooms are not meant to be easily reconfigured between a queen and two twin beds. The bed was uncomfortably hard, and the furniture in the room was dated. Instead of a tub, a one-piece shower stall is provided, and the sound of water running while enclosed in that chamber is deafening.

In principle, despite the lack of an MTR station, it is easy to get to Central and beyond by the trams that arrive frequently. However, the ride is about 30 minutes long, and it may be worth your while to take a taxi (30 HKD). A shuttle operates to Hong Kong Airport Express station too, but I did not make use of that service.

We hardly had to interact with the staff, but when we did, they were to the point. There was a Chinese restaurant and other facilities, but we did not make use of those.

In summary, the hotel was adequate for its purpose, but it would not be my first choice in future.

Few points i would like to share based on my experience with this hotel

- This is close to Macau ferry terminal - 3 mins by taxi
- There is a tram / bus stop right infront of the hotel - Approaching the hotel through main entrance by Taxi is not possible. Taxi's drop you at the adjacent road.
- Lots of 7/11 shops around.
- Stayed in standard room - there is no room heating system - it is very cold particularly in Dec when temp is around 15deg c.
- Standard Room space was ok for a family of 4 - 2 Adults and 2 kids
- The front reception staffs are like robot just doing the check in / check out formalities - not so hospitable in nature. i think they need some special training to atleast give a smile to customers.
- Lifts in the hotel are quite old - Doors open /close sensors dont work properly- it is sometimes risky
- Morning breakfast was good with both veg and non veg stuff- the staff in the breakfast area are more eager to get sign on the breakfast bill rather than serving breakfast... they pound on you with their bill for sign once you get seated..
- Overall the hotel staff needs to be trained - on how to be hospitable with the customers.
- The travel desk lady by name Dorris was very courteous and kind. Her guidance towards trip planning really helped.

Room Tip: Select rooms on the high floor
