Was in town for work and stayed at the Luxe Manor for a week. It has a fairly good location, with the free Airport Express shuttle bus dropping you off 5 steps from the hotel's entrance. It is a bit of a distance from the nearest Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station entrance though, about 10-15mins walk (depending on sidewalk crowd and your pace) and not really fun in muggy August heat. However, being in the heart of TST, shopping is never far away and I guess sweating with all the shopping bags is part of the "experience"...
Being quite the HK veteran, I am used to the usually brusque attitude of hotel staff, even at 5 stars international brands, maybe because of the huge volume of people coming through everyday. While Luxe Manor's front desk staff will not win any awards for "Best Staff Ever", I am more than satisfied with their attitude and they are helpful when approached; I would give them an "A" for effort when compared to their counterparts in other HK hotels. I have to give special mention to the housekeeping staff though; the lady servicing my floor never fails to greet me when I run into her in the morning and her work is fast but thorough.
Room size is also a pleasant surprise with sufficient room for 2 people in a twin bed room. My room was quiet at night, the bed was comfortable and I have no complaints about my sleep quality. The bathroom is big enough that I don't feel like I am standing in a ceramic coffin. Basic amenities like shampoo, body wash, moisturizer, toothbrush, shaving kit etc are provided and replaced daily. Iron and ironing board is available upon request and there is complimentary bottled water as well as instant tea and coffee. I have came across some reviews saying that there is no view from their room (facing a blank wall etc.), that is fairly standard in HK, with everything packed so close and dense. Rooms at the Ritz, InterContinental or Four Seasons would probably have decent views but expect to pay a lot more.
Breakfast is buffet style and fairly good, with enough variety and more than enough quantity. However, do temper your expectations if you stay for more than 3 nights as the menu does not change. Cafe staff is friendly and service is efficient.
I booked my room via the hotel's website and they blocked a deposit on my credit card but the actual charge only showed up after checkout. I paid around USD180 per night with their promotional package, which includes free wifi and local calls. Their rates vary based on which day of the week and this can be seen before you complete your booking.
A word of advice for any visitors looking to buy some essential items e.g. shampoo, bottled water, snacks etc. While walking towards the hotel from Nathan Road along Kimberley Road, one would pass by a couple of convenience stores; resist buying from them as their prices are heavily marked up (like convenience stores all over). Continue walking down Kimberley, pass the hotel and you will come by a supermarket (Wellcome) on your left. Their prices are much friendlier and they definitely have more variety of whatever it is you are looking for.
For the price point, location and general experience I had, I would recommend this hotel.
