“Lovely and authentic ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2014

We had no reservations - after a long day of showing HK and Stanley to my lovely Oz friends. I chose here cos it was near my flat, and wanted to taste SE Asia street food fare. This was a lovely surprise, the Rojak salad was tasty and fresh! Quite close to those serve in the straits! We had chicken rice, Penang noodles and Singapore prawn noodles. Washed it down with local Tsing Tao beer. All lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. The place was crowded and pleasant atmosphere! Will visit again! Reasonable priced and local scene!

“Yummy food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2014

Went there last night and ordered too much as we wanted to try most dishes. I loved the ladies fingers in spicy sauce (or you can choose water spinach) and the cha kuey teow which was spicy as well to my surprise. Beef rendang was so so and the Nasi lemak came with only 2 tiny pieces of chicken. Not cheap for malaysian food but will definitely go back!

“Good Malaysian specialities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

We were too tired to go out and decided to try the hotel café. We ordered the char kuay teow (fried flat noodles) and hae mee (prawn noodle soup) amongst other dishes, and concluded that this restaurant serves good, authentic Malaysian food. We should know, as we are from that part of the world and grew up eating such specialities. This high standard is not surprising since Traders Hotel is part of the Shangri-la group which has Malaysian connections.

“not great and on the expensive side”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2014

we were at the traders hotel and this restaurant is located in the hotel. saw the good reviews here and thought it was convenient enough to give it a try. the prices were a bit expensive for what it was, and the food was decent enough, but we expected a bit more from the other reviews here.
