Description: The no reservation tapas bar 22 Ships has become one of Hong Kong hottest tables since opening in October 2012 - offering an eclectic menu of modern tapas, served in a buzzy yet relaxed setting, and a dynamic list of sherries, wines, spirits and Spanish beers. Using the best of both European and Asian ingredients, Michelin-star Chef Jason Atherton and 22 Ships’ Executive Chef Lee Westcott bring a modern touch to traditional classics. Westcott, who has strong a Michelin background and has worked with acclaimed chefs such as René Redzepi at Noma, was Head Chef at Tom Aikens Restaurant in London before taking up his role of leading the kitchen at 22 Ships

“Not cheap, but a nice treat.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

This is a tapas restaurant with a difference, don't go expecting traditional Spanish Tapas, otherwise you will be disappointed. Instead, go expecting small dishes of gourmet deliciousness, and you will be happy.

Every dish is well thought out, unique, cleverly prepared, seasoned and cooked perfectly.

The breakfast eggs with chorizo was very cleverly done, and yummy. The goats cheese sorbet with nitro honeycomb and raspberry was a delicious combination.

I will be going back. It gets busy, so book ahead.

“No reservations annoying but...”

Overall a friendly and yummy restaurant. Food and drinks were great. Did not like the no reservation policy and bar stool seating but thankfully the service made up for it.

“Creative and cool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

Buzzing atmosphere, lively, loud, cool and packed (very very small place, typical new Hong Kong hotspot), the food is tapas-sized so ordering a few different dishes is a must. Flavors and combinations are creative and outside the comfort zone of the usual “tapas” restaurant. What we had was very good (tuna tartare, steak tartare, bone marrow, piri piri gambas and mini burgers). Good drinks selection and efficient staff. They don’t accept reservations so queuing might be required.
