“average business hotel with great value and good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2014

Price: we book the hotel room 2-3 weeks ahead via OTAs (expedia) for less than us$100 r/n, RO.
Location: 5min by bus (or ding ding/tramways) from metro station, do not take us much time finding the hotel; close to 7-11, convenient stores, but not a lot of people are hanging out on the st. near by even it was shortly after 1000hrs.
Service: front desk at 5th Floor, when we are checking in, reservation said they are running out of DBL bed so we got a TWN instead, didn't trouble them much as we know best western is a ordinary business hotel which was usually facilitated with more twns than dbls. staff managed to put two twn bed into one dbl before we got to the room.
Room: basic room type STD City View, little bit tiny--about 15 sqm--and crowded for two pax but enough if you don't have much time in it or you got only yourself traveling , room itself was clean with slow free in-room wifi, free tea/coffee/bottled mineral water.
Facility: got 4 elevators, each one could hold less than 6 people, pool is outdoor and also don't have much time to check out their fitness center.
Overall: it's an average 4 star business style hotel of international chain with Great Value in low season and with a Fair Location.

I liked this hotel. A bit too much gold in the decor for my taste but that doesn't matter.

The location was great. Close to the Ferry Terminal was only a 5 min cab ride and a 10-20 min walk to the subway. I also loved being able to follow Queen's Road to downtown or Central area if I chose to walk. The hotel also had a van shuttle to transport guests to some of the casinos, Ferry terminal or central train to go to the airport. Another wonderful treat about Hong Kong is that the train to the airport allows you to check into your flight and check your luggage at the train station.

The staff were great and very helpful. It was a little strange that the Lobby was on the second or third floor of the hotel. If I remember correctly there were 3 elevators that all worked well and were only a bit slow. The roof top pool was lovely and had sun chairs and a great view.

The room was at the end of the hallway, which probably helped with noise. It was small but not as small as many hotels in HK offer. I was plenty of space for myself, but I could see it getting very cozy for 2 people with a few suitcases. Two of the walls had curtains that would open to give great views of the city. The tv was a flatscreen and had plenty of English channels. The bed was not the most comfortable, but after getting a second comforter to put over the mattress it was just fine. There was a tiny fridge in the room and a tea or coffee service.

The bathroom was fine. Small but what you would expect to find in this size hotel in Hong Kong. The linens were fine, nothing extravagant, but clean.

Overall I would happily stay in this hotel again. It was a good value for such an expensive city to visit. It was clean, good location, friendly staff and reasonably sized room for HK.

Room Tip: I had a corner room at the end of the hall which may have been quieter than others.

The price is good value for Hong Kong standards. The rooms are small but they are comfortable and the staff is friendly.
The pool is amazing and really undersold. A real plus especially in hot weather.
Would recommend if you don't quite have the budget for other HK rooms, but still want to be comfortable and on the island.

Room Tip: Harbour View is great.

This hotel entrance was amazing as all other buildings this hotel also have 38 floors stayed only for a day but hotel was very well decorated room was very very small and I think sane problems with other hotel in Hong Kong but as room was at 32 Floor Harbour view so that made our stayed comfortable and if you are choosing this hotel because of there swimming pool than check pool opening months from hotel rest hospitality was great. Must consider to stay here if you will be out of room for complete day.

I booked this hotel as i wanted to be near the ferry terminal to Macau. Just for this purpose, i did not regret my decision as i returned from Macau at 2am in the morning, there was a long queue for taxis, i just had to walk back to the hotel. Not near, but it was ok for me. About a 20minute stroll.

There are many small eating places nearby, just down either end of the street. Macdonalds, 7-11, Guardian pharmacy (i think its rebranded in HK) just steps away.

A plus point is that its served by the Airport Express bus, really convenient. Another thing I like is that the area is home to mostly locals. You will probably be the only tourist in these cosy nice eating places.

Room is small, but comfy for solo travellers. Couples might be a bit of a squeeze.

If you want to be in the thick of the shopping or clubbing scene, this hotel/area is not for you. If you are keen on mingling with the locals, then yes.

Room Tip: Harbour view is nice, but partly blocked by buildings.

Yes, the hotel has tiny rooms (really tiny), but this is Hong Kong and you expect it. We paid for a harbour view and though you are a good few streets back, the view was nice of the water. The theme of decoration seems to be kitsch dazzle- everything is given a glitter or gold finish, down to a chandelier in the elevator and a painted gold frame around the TV. It is very tacky, but all good fun.

My only real issue with the hotel is that the pool was not open for the winter, despite warm temperatures while we were there. Our reason for choosing the hotel was the pool on the 41st floor and there was no mention of the pool not being open on their website or during booking, so I felt a bit let down. I

Choice available of Harbour View or Mountain View. We had a room on the 23rd floor with a harbour view which was nice.
When travelling to and from the airport, this hotel has a great free shuttle service to and from Hong Kong station. The shuttle just travels in a loop, stopping at several hotels.
At least a 15min walk from the nearest MTR station, but I believe they are extending the line and there will soon be a station nearby.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and will probably stay here on my next visit to HK.

Room Tip: Harbour view seems best. The higher the floor, the better.
