“I always search for Ibis Hotels anywhere I go”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

I always search for Ibis hotel anywhere I go. And fortunately I got on in Hongkong. During my stay I was very much tiered and I took rest. Hotel was really very good in every manner. Gym, Spa and Restaurant are things I liked most among its amenities and services.

Our recent stay at the Ibis Hotel was a very good one.I loved the location very easy to walk to the MTR subways. The Hotel is considered a budget hotel by Hong Kong standards. My,girlfriend and I ate once at the breakfast buffet.I would give it a 6 on a scale of 1-10 The price is after doing the exchange difference comes out to $19.00 per person.
Imagine that! Cheap? I am from Las Vegas Nevada for $38.00 USD what a great buffet you, could get.Folks!walk out the front entrance go accross the street to the Black and White Restaurant. Some of the best Chinese food I have ever had.1/3 of the cost of the Ibis Hotel. We had a great city view. The hotel staff, very professional. I will stay there again . Starbucks inside the hotel couldn't ask for anything better.

First and foremost I was impressed by the helpful and efficient service from the hotel staff. There was a snag with our safe and they replaced it within minutes and we requested an extra pillow which also materialised within minutes. They guys at reception couldn't have been more helpful. The room we had wasn't large but was adequate and had a great view across the bay (if it hadn't been so hazy...). The room was clean, reasonably priced and the breakfast was also reasonably priced. The only donwside is that it's a few hundred yards walk to the nearest metro station at Sheung Wan but that's a small gripe, there's plenty of local colour on the way. It's a drop off point for the shuttle bus from Hong Kong station and very handy for the Macau ferry terminal. I'd definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: A room with views out across the bay would be a good option.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your compliments and we are glad to know that you will stay with us again!

A smart tip to get to our hotel from Sheung Wan MTR station (Exit C) is to turn left out of the exit, then keep walking along Connaught Road Central until the junction of Des Voeux Road West and you’ll find our colorful building sits just two blocks away to your left. It takes you around 8 minutes on foot.

We would extend our warmest welcome to your next stay with us again soon!

Best regards,

In the middle of the dried mushrooms and fish area of HK, Ibis is a good place to stay.
We arrived early (7.30 am) and we were upgraded to a harbour view room since that was the only available room at the moment. Although a smokers room, that was a good bargain to get some rest overcoming our jetlag from Europe and a wonderful sight over the Kowloon harbour..
The room was spacious for HK standards with the amenities to be expected from an Ibis hotel. We did not try the breakfast, since we are low on that. The Starbucks on the groundfloor is busy, however, we have had better croissans, danish cinnamon etc. with Starbucks.
Hollywood Road just starts 2 blocks away, the charming tram starts 1 block away from Western Market and SoHo is just 10 minutes walking.

Stayed here for 3 nights en route to Oz. We booked a harbour view room which was on the 17th floor and the view was stunning and it was amazing how busy the harbour is day and night. We got the airport express to Hong Kong Central where there is a free bus shuttle out to the hotel. Local Mtr station is only a short walk away and also the piers to catch a ferry across to Kowloon.

This hotel's breakfast hours are 4am-12noon! After a full day's work and a night out with associates, you come back to your hotel at 4am and can go straight to bacon, eggs and pancakes. Wonderful. My husband and I stayed at the Ibis Sheung Wan during a business trip and though we had varying schedules, we both found this to be a very convenient hotel. The room was small but modern, quiet and clean. Location is good: At first I found the MTR too far, but I discovered that you can take the tram which passes directly in front of the hotel (and takes the Octopus card) onto Connaught Road where you can choose from up to 4 entrances to the MTR. The free shuttle from the airport which takes you to and from HK station, the Starbucks on the ground floor and 2 convenience stores (7-11 and Vin n Go) literally around the corner are great bonuses. On Connaught, you'll also find a wellcome supermarket, a Toys r Us at Wing on Centre (for presents for the kids) and Wing On Dept store.

My complaints:
1. No complimentary drinking water at the breakfast buffet! I had to order Italian bottled still water, which was small and pricey.
2. The hotel is popular so the front desk area, staffed by only 3 people, was forever busy. Not good if you're in a hurry.
3. Related to being busy, during our 3 day stay, not once did anyone at the front desk pick up the phone when we called for messages, info, etc. Perhaps add more staff?

Despite that, we still had an overall pleasant stay. I recommend this hotel, especially for business travellers.

Room Tip: Apparently the smoking floor rooms smell terrible and need their ventilation fixed (according to our...
