“Best Crispy Pork Knuckles outside Munich”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

I am from HK and my husband is from Germany. We're in HK in Sept' 2013. We walked by the TST East area and found this Germany place clean, open and well located. Made a reservation in person. Returned at night @ 7pm and the guy actually remembered us by name and a table was indeed reserved for us. It's not very common in a HK. This place is busy and crowded. The owner is from Austria and running this place with his son. Great accommodating service knowing we don't like the fume of smoke. They asked before seating us - corner booth table by the side walk/patio area. Great food. I mean great. The crispy Schweinshaxn / Pork Knuckles are CRISPY, tasty, full of favor, authentic, the split between fat and lean meat is just perfect. It looks fantastic on a plate as it is in the photo. Not false advertisement. It's hot in Sept but we enjoyed this dish very much. My husband said this is the best one he had outside Munich (home). He is not kidding (hardly:) Pretzel, Hühnerwurst / Spicy Chicken Sausages are made just right as well. We are both pleasantly surprised. Beer selection is pretty standard. We have been telling our friends and colleagues about this place (food) since our return to SFO. There are 2 and 3 bars/live bands next door. So enjoy the German beer and food. Save your room for hard core libation and entertainment next door whether it is rock, pop music, wine or vodka; or simply people watching. Good quality food, good location and clean establishment in TST is expensive. Don't underestimate the cost of living in big metro city. Brotzeit has one restaurant in Singapore. We're in SIN but we did not have a chance to try it. May be next time when we attend the Singapore F1 again. Anyway, please try it when you are visiting HK next. I hope they don't change and keep the standard until our next visit. On a scale 1 to 10, food is 9.5, service is 8, setting is 8. Definitely will return and make recommendation.

“Quick Beer and a Sausage”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2013

Dropped into brotzeit after a long day at Disneyland with the 3 year old for a quick beer and a quick snack. The staff are great with kids. The beer choice is good and the sausages are excellent. Wished I could have stayed longer but the kid cracked a s&@t so we had to go. Will definitely be back.

“"Schweinshaxe" The best you can get in ASIA!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

Have you ever been at German restaurant in Asia? So if you are Asian, you will think, that this is usual German food. If you are German, you will never eat again at German restaurant in Asia, right? But if you have ever been in Munich for "Schweinshaxe" you will find out, that Schweinshaxe at "Brotzeit HK" is exactly same, even better!! NO JOKING!! It is my No. 1 restaurant in HK since years. Go there, check out by yourself, whole menue is absolute fantastic!! Even Jägermeister is as cold as should be! Looking forward do see all friendly staff again!!
