“Learned a new word - funicular”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2013

At times it feels like you are climbing at 45 degrees. I can only imagine the challenge of hiking to the peak from sea level. A very nice trip with a great view at the end. Get there early to avoid the crowds.

“What a view, try it at night!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

You can spend a little extra and cut the line by buying a ticket to Madame Tussaud's - definitely worth it if the line is long. Make sure to pay for the observation deck as part of your ticket.

When you get to the top, you then go up to the top floor of the tramway station, where the observation deck is. Looking down the steep hillside on Hong Kong, Victoria Harbor and Kownloon is spectacular. If you like to hike or walk distances, you can then follow Lugard Road around the summit of the peak - and gives you not only great views, but an insider's view of fancy Hong Kong houses.

“Fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Worth the price for the ride alone. It is a fun attraction and a fun ride. Then you get to the top of the peak, and the views from up there are astounding. Definitely go try this.

“a great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

The trip up to the peak on the tram is every bit as breath taking as when I last took it 30 years agog like today you can see very little then the ride will be more exciting than arriving.ignore those who downplay it.it is worth the money.

“An exciting and historical tour - but crowded”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

An exciting and historical tour. We visit the lower terminus at around 3 PM. There were so many people crowding the entrance. There was a long line at the ticket office. It seemed that we should spend 2 hours to buy the tickets. We abandoned the trip.
Later on, we know that there is another line for 2-in-1 combo tickets (Madame Tussauds Hong Kong + Peak Tram Return). The line is much shorter. However, noboby told us this condition at the moment. The scene were very chaotic.
We visit the lower terminus at 10AM the next day. Much better -- still crowded, but only took half an hour to get the ticket. Another 20 minutes to get on the Tram.

Recommendation: (1) Visit the lower terminus before 10 AM. (2) If there have been many people crowding at the entrance, try the line (over the left) for 2-in-1 combo ticket.
Remember, there is another long wait for return trip from the upper terminus.
