“It's only worth it if you don't have to wait”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

Cool 'British-style' way to climb up to Victoria Peak to see the spectacular views over Hong Kong city (night views are the best!). However it is very common you will have to wait anywhere from 10 mins to two hours. The most convenient (and cheapest) option is to just take a cab. I would argue the views from the road (taking a cab) are better than the views from the tram as you only get brief snippets.

“Peak Tram of Hongkong.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

A short walk from the friends office in Central Area got us to the originating point of the Peak Tram. The trip was a relaxed ride on this antique tram and was an amazing experience to be on it . Up on the peak one gets a birds eye View of HK and on a clear day , one can even get to see Macau.

A well organised retailing along with several interesting food outlets make it a the trip even more enjoyable.

“2 and a half hour wait for the tram”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

Take a cab to the peak. Wait for the tram was over 2 and a half hours. Unbelievably hot day and standing in line like sardines was not work the few minutes in a tram to the top. Not enough buses working the tram start and long waits. My husband walked to the peak. Nice 45 minute trek from the Reservoir on Hong Kong Island and lots of people walking it.

“Great and the kids loved it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

Go in the morning on a working day - the queue for us was about 10 minutes which I thought was good. Its relatively inexpensive. Don't be suckered into buying the section where you can view the Vista of the Peak - you don't need this! - you get the same views in the shopping centre viewing areas are free!
Very, very steep and well worth it in this old carriage - my kids really enjoyed this as would adults of any age
