“Animal and matchmaking statues”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

Interesting Taoist temple with animal statues near the entrance. One of the women staffing the temple was helpful in explaining their significance. Pleasant garden. Small piece of cultural advice: there are human statues which are meant for matchmaking. It is culturally inappropriate for young children to spend time with them as they are seriously meant for adults looking for their perfect match.

“A place to go”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

Great for first timer. This temple was located just in front of the Wong Tai Sin MTR station. Although there was a huge crowd of worshipers each day, the temple was well maintained. There were staffs to direct the crowd. So, it was easy to just follow the direction. We also felt safe for this crowd control measures. The architecture of the temple was great and garden was well-kept. There was few resting spots. We got the chance to witness the Tao's praying session that started at about 1030am. Do not miss it.

“Very impressive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

Go to the Wong Tai Sin Temple to see some awesome gardens and walk around the temple to escape the madness of central Kowloon. This temple exceeded my expectations as it was very cool to see all the worshippers and almost no tourists! Do watch out for the burning of incense, it is intense. No fee, easy to get to, and interesting to check out.

“Be there”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

Though I am not a believer, its still a lovely place to be there - the Taoist practises - try fortune telling. Avoid the prayer seasons - the crowd and burning of incense can be overwhelming and dangerous.
