“Kids will love it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

I took my boys ages 8 and 7 on a Saturday. The biggest mistake was going on a Saturday while China is out for summer break. It was very crowded and those children were rude. They tried several times to cut in lines with their parents full support. The museum it's self is wonderful. It is about 5 stories of information. They have interactive things for kids to play with and most everything is written in English as well as Chinese. We spent at least 3-4 hours in the museum. Some might not need as long but, I love museums. Do bring water with you. We got thirsty and asked about drinking fountains. That's when we were told we needed to bring our own water in with us. It is a quick walk from the Tsim Sha Tsui station on the Red line. Also be forewarned the MTR is crazy busy. You will get pushed and manhandled if you decide to take it. Overall the science museum is inexpensive (compared to the rest of Hong Kong) and worth the time.

“Able to entertain the family for a few hours.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

The kids will love it! Far from the Hong Kong city center, but worth the trip, there´s a lot of interesting things even for grown ups.

You have visited a science museum before, maybe will feel not so exciting, but if is your first museum of this matter, you will think the time spent worth.

“Good science for kids and adults, hands on, Great special exhibits”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

Visited on a rainy day in Aug and there were lots of kids and adults working the many hands on activities. The mirror exhibit was very good. The exhibit on Soybean was good science and very interesting talked about implications (trade, climate etc). There was a special exhibit for the Wildlife photographer of the year which was EXCELLENT. Great pictures with info on the people taking the pix, when the took it, and something about what was being shot. I could not take any pictures of the Wildlife scenes or I would have taken a picture of every one (~100). And it is really cheap to get in this Museum.

“small as it may be, it got some good stuff there”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

This museum has a lot of displays that are quite advanced in science. it is likely exemplifying how the school system is like in Hong Kong. i like the original DC 3 of Cathay Pacific hanging down from the ceiling. Unfortunately, when i was there, about 20% of the displays were closed as they were under repair.

The visit i had with my son only lasted for 2 hours. Within this duration, we pretty well covered most of the displays, though we did not seriously check out the details.

Conveniently, the museum is adjacent to the Hong Kong History Museum. One can schedule the visit to both museums to make the visit more efficient.

As a sideline, I also noticed that all the kids hanging around were the mainland Chinese kids; Where were all the Hong Kong kids?.
