“Very far from Mongkok MTR”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2011

Compared to Hotel Benito, room is slightly bigger (can squeeze 3 persons in 1 twin-bedded-room) and it's clean. It is surrounded by good food, shopping malls and next to ladies street. Famous economic Michelin dim sum, Tin Ho Wah is behind the hotel. Breakfast set or local yuen yan can be found in 茶餐厅 next to hotel.

Concierge service available. We left our luggage overnight at charge of HKD 5 / piece / night when we travel to Macau. Took the free shuttle bus service to Hong Kong China Ferry Terminal.

Only cons: Very far from Mongkok MTR. About 10-15 mins walk to MTR, dragging our luggage through the crowd is a hassle.

Overall, a good bargain hotel for exploring local delights. But if you prefer accommodation near MTR and don't mind taking MTR 1 or 2 stops away from Mongkok, I would recommend Hotel Benito.

Room Tip: Ask for room at higher level to see the night view

This hotel is very good for business purpose and on very nice area of hongkong. Me and my all friends prefer to stay here only. As we have to choose this area because our customers do stay near to this area and many indian people do stay in this part of hong kong.

1st impression: very clean room and spacious with luggage space.

Bed is a bit hard But after a tired day shopping and touring, you will probably be too tired to care.

Topped up the complimentary mineral water during housekeeping.

Great location, about 10 mins walk to Mongkok MTR.

stayed here for a week and it was pretty enjoyable

Pros
the room was quite sizeable for hong kong standards with a good work table and open closet to hang clothes.
the housekeeping was very prompt with their service, always willing to provide help and very polite. the reception was always busy, and slightly reluctant, but always helped us when we asked. they even helped us flag a cab when we needed one.
the location is really good because just downstairs you get great food, walk out for 5 minutes and you are in the middle of mongkok, a great shopping district. about 10-15 min walk from the mong kok mtr. the best thing was that it was tucked slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the hk streets, though it was very nearby!
there are sufficient amenities in the room to get you comfortable, and the toilet is really clean and well designed.
the price is worth paying for what you get.

Cons
the only major problems were the internet access and the dusty carpet.
we read that there was free internet access from the website. however, when we reached we found that we had to pay about S$20 per day for wireless internet, which only one computer could use at a time. (but there was a complimentary breakfast for each day you got internet)
the floor was carpeted so it was rather dusty, our nose got kind of sensitive esp on the first day. the housekeeping does not vacuum every day
however, note that these points probably do not affect everyone, it was just us haha.

LOVE the food in HK!!
overall recommended, given that we could stay comfortably for over a week =)

I have been to Hongkong for several times...I managed to book week stay of this hotel during my 2nd visit to HK with their sales staff Ms Mah. We upgraded to premium with small amount and tried their dim sum restaurant too.

In terms of location, it is about 5-10min to Mongkok MTR, Exit E, lots of food, Yoshinoya, Xu Liu Xiang dessert, hot pot offer after 9pm, 24hr convenience store, bubble tea, try the cheese hot dog next 24hr convenience store - very nice! next to school, shoe street (fa yuen st) and temple street (bazaar stalls) stone throw away. Frankly, it is the best priced hotel that I have stayed out of so many hotels, in terms pricing and location.

Hence here I am - I will be coming to Stanford hotel again for the next few days! As the weekend rates are double the promo weekday price, I will be changing hotel during the weekend. Other than that, it is perfect hotel and can take A21 bus to/back to airport! No regrets for this hotel :)
