“Great Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013 via mobile

Stayed three nights at this hotel and most impressed. The service was first rate, nothing too much trouble. The breakfast room had all you could possibly ask for and reasonably priced. The hotel a little distance from downtown Hong Kong but the hotel runs a courtesy bus which makes things accessible, as well as the hotel not being far from the efficient public transport system. Hotel rooms clean and acceptable for the price of the hotel. Very happy with the accommodation overall.

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in a twin room...

Location was really good and nice.. Loved staying in Kowloon, so much to do, walking distance from everything as well as the ladies market. Bus did have some shuttle services as well which was a nice touch

Breakfast was really nice and a good variety..

Staff were nice and booked the trip to Lantau island directly with the hotel, good service, even picked people up from the 5 star Peninsula so a good service guaranteed..

Would 110% definitely stay here again if going to Hong Kong and would highly recommend the hotel as well..

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

We are a small family, traveling with two Girls (3 and 6) a little on a budget. We were her End March 2013

Not our first stay here in Metropark Kowloon. We returned because:

-They have a heated pool on the top of the roof with great setup and showers
-They are very family friendly
-They do make hassels if you book a double room and come with 4 persons
-Their rooms are fairly big in comparison with other Hotels in Hongkong
-They have a good conection to Hongkong via public Bus
-They are a 5 Minute Walk away from Ladies Market
-They are easy with late checkouts

How to get there from the airport:
- There is a counter for a shuttle-bus in the arrivals hall at the airport. Going there by this bus will set you back HKD 110,- per person (=exactly EUR 11,- It is free for under 3 years)
-If you are more than 2 thus, it is cheaper to take a normal, public Taxi.
-We did not try other ways of transport, but this time chose the Taxi

Getting there with a Taxi:
We are a fmiliy of 4 and had a lot of luggage (2 big, 2 medium, 1 small, one Pram, 2 small Backpacks) No problem for a Hongkong-Taxi. Just throws it all in the trunck and off you go. You always go by Taxi-Meter. Unlike Bangkok there is no discussion about that (nowhere and never).
Fare to the Hotel is 250,- HKD (=25 EUR)

The Hotel itsself:
Reception is at the first floor (yep space is precious in Hongkong) but the driveway is over-roofed and the bellboys always help. Great service.

The rooms do not have an overwhelming view. Interesting though, because you can observe the living-rooms of the opposite house.

There is a small backery on the bottom of the Hotel.

There is a clean, very quiet (until our Kids pitched up), pool with sufficient tables and sunbeds. You get extra towels there for free. Take of shoes (which is why the place is so clean).

Here is also a little gym. Very bright (big windows to the pool) but not too big. Gets you moving, but not worth mentioning.

You can not go to Pool or Gym when handycaped. You have to walk up two more floors after you arrived at top level with the elevator.

The rest of the Hotel is okay for handycaped, the doors are standard though and I do not know if they have rooms with wider bathroomdoors.

Bathroom is functional. It has a bathtube and a shower in the bathtube.

We did not have breakfast included, so we can not comment on this. Asking others though, it must be rather good.

Roomservice is clean.

There is a fridge in the room.

Our beds were comfortable at about 160cm width, meaning not too soft (we prefer sleeping hard)

Get washing done:
There is a public laundry on the opposite side of the road. Go across on pedestrian crossing 10 m to the left, and go another 15 m left once on the other side. They wash by the Kilo. Very very friendly. The lady at the counter speaks perfect british english and knows a lot about which bus takes you where and what they cost. Clothes were clean, smelt good and hat the same size when we got them back.

Getting away from the Hotel:
Busfare to the Star-Ferry is at HKD 4,7 (=EUR 0,47) and takes 15 Minutes. The Bus goes irregularly every approx 3-5 Minutes.

Subway (or Metro) is about 10-15 Minute Walk. Bus 7 and 81c get you there in no-time. Also Minibus 74 does.

Conclusion:
We will go here agian, unless someone points out a cheaper (we paid EUR 68,- per night) Hotel with a better service.

Room Tip: The lower you are, the better it is, for at about 09h00 to 11h00 you do wait a bit at the elevator.

For the price this hotel is worth it. The Staff where excellent . We where met at the door and our luggage was taken care of and taken to our room which was comfortable . We had Tea coffee facilities and Wi Fi . Not sure if our room was standard or deluxe .The bed comfortable and the room quiet.
The shuttle bus was great .It takes you to Ladies markets which is only 10 minute walk away if you prefer .and the bus goes down to almost The waterfront area so only a few minutes walk to The Star ferry . We had breakfast at the hotel once in the 4 days we stayed which was good but could have been better. We chose to have breakfast a couple of doors away which was very cheap and adequate.
There is a good supermarket across the road. A nice bakery adjoined to the hotel ,plus more bakeries only a minute or so down the road with many other little shops .

We stayed in this hotel 5 years ago and thought it in a good position to explore Kowloon, Hong Kong and the New territories. The facilities have all had an upgraded since our last stay and we were most impressed. The is now a bakery shop on the ground floor and if you do not wish to have the full buffet breakfast, the Danish pastries and coffee from the shop are very good. There is shuttle to and from the airport at a reasonable $110 per single trip.. There is also a free shuttle bus to Tsim Sha Tsui via a stop at Mong Kok, although we found it quicker to walk to Mong Kok.. The night market there is very good, similar to Temple Street, but no food stall. The hotel pool is on the roof and is very nice, how ever I did not have a swim as all the tables surrounding the pool were taken up with people holding business meetings and I felt too conscious t be the only one in swim suit which is a shame, as I was on holiday?

I stayed here for three nights on the executive floor, and was pleasantly surprised with the nice room and the quick service. The small lounge was not used that much and I felt very much at home, although it was strange that sometimes tables in the lounge are not cleared and cleaned.

Breakfast was o.k. and the staff does its best to accommodate your wishes.

The disadvantage is that the hotel is a 15 minutes walk from the nearest station on the red MRT line. The shuttle bus from the airport is cheap (HKD 110) but slow. Getting to the bus from customs takes at least 15 minutes, and the bus first visited two other hotels, so from customs to the hotel entrance can take you up to two hours.

We stayed here for a few days between the completion of a cruise and our flight home. In most ways, it met our needs. The rooms are immaculately clean. If that is an issue with you, no worry. The wifi did not work on the upper level we were on, so they gave us a lower level room. The staff are really friendly and helpful.

A big plus is there is a free shuttle that takes you downtown every 30 minutes almost around the clock. It went most of the places we had to go during our trip, and saved us having to worry about subways, public buses, cabs, etc. For this reason alone, I would recommend it.

On the downside, we picked this place because it had an indoor pool. But we were there in February, and they told us the pool was closed for maintenance that month.
