“Outstanding overall”

I stayed at the Mira during a 2 night stopover in Hong Kong. The hotel exceeded all expectations and made me feel like a movie star. Greetings when in the lobby and constant smiles (that are genuine) make a big difference.

They have a cell phone in each room that is available to you free of charge for recieving calls anyhwere in the city and calls are free if you connect to the hotel reception. This is super convenient if you are like me and want to leave your personal phone in your room switched off to save money on calls as roaming is so expensive. So if I am out and about in HK and if I am looking for a restaurant in my area I can call concierge and they will sort everything out at a push of a button. My partner called the hotel and the operator put the call through to my room and the call connected straight to my guest mobile while travelling on the star ferry. No charges to recieve the call. I liked this service and especially as it is free. Of course if you call an international number from the phone it is probably expensive.

Re the room: Digital integrated entertainment center is a plus with wifi, onscreen internet, and ipod dock. Bed very comfy, amazing bathroom.

The pool area and spa facilities at the hotel were second to none. I loved the modern feel to it all and the mood lighting. There are couches around the pool so you can lay around and order drinks, smoothies or food from the room service menu and enjoy it poolside.

The restaurant "cuisine cuisine" was also very good. It featured chinese style haute cuisine and if you are a single traveller the staff will adjust the portion size and price for each dish to accommodate one diner. This is because most chinese dishes are usually shared by many around the table. The guest chef was from Dubai. The roast pork was the best ever nd melted in your mouth. The prawns with a wasabi crust were devine and the service was elegant and not overbearing.

I think that overall I can't see a single flaw with this property as it is great value for what you get and the location to the star ferry and shopping area is excellent.

I chose mira over the 'W' hotel. A mistake. I booked the spa suite room at a hefty HK3700 per night before taxes. The room was certainly a lot smaller than the 70 sq m promised (I stayed at the Opposite House in Beijing two weeks before and that was a true 70 sq m room). The din from renovation work travelled throughout the hotel and was particularly bad in the restaurant where you had to shout to be heard over breakfast. Concierge service was appaling. My fax wasn't delivered and I was asked to go to reception to collect it, which I refused naturally. My booking for a restaurant wasn't confirmed to me.(It was made but I wasn't told). Mirrors, dim lights and mucic in the lobby don't make a boutique hotel. There are patches of good service, the duty manager made a good attempt at placating me but on the whole there is a schism . Its good to aspire but when they charge the rates they do, there is a certain expectation and they have certainly fallen far short of the new urban boutique hotels such as the puli in shanghai and the opposite house in beijing. Never again the Mira.

Great multimedia facilities in the room, very knowledgeable and helpful staff and sited in an ideal location with the Miramar mall. Take your time to explore the local food delights situated just around the area. There's a little restaurant located right next to the hotel in a building call Champagne Court which serves cheese instant noodles. Very popular with HK celebs. Worth a try. Other hidden gems can be found along Carnavon rd, Cameron Rd, Granville Rd, etc.

Want a 5* hotel in the middle of all the action? You definately can't go wrong with this beauty bang in the middle of TST. The rooms are a bit small but they more than make up for it with high end techie gadgets, mediacentre, LCD TV, Bose iPod dock interlinked with bathroom and a lovely touch is a mobile phone in which u shall never miss a call from your room :)
The gym facilities are sufficient to satisfy your needs with the latest treadmills :)
They are just in the midst of opening a brand new mall next door its in development but I went in to take a look and its only gonna add to the already great choice around the hotel.
looking for a comfortable stay with great location then look no further its about 4-5mins away from the underground station :) thumbs up can't wait for them to stop the construction as its pretty noisy during the day. Will definately be coming back

As a new hotel, and a new member of the small luxury hotel group, the property is spotlessly clean and modern. Check-in was quick and the staff is generally polite and looks happy to help (sans the girl at the cakeshop), which was a nice break from the usually grumpy service industry in Hong Kong, and especially in Tsim Sha Tsui.

We booked a spa suite in a promotional package that came with breakfasts, champagnes, cupcakes, chocolate bars and massages, which was a steal. The room was quite big, and enough to fit in a jacuzzi and a sauna. The AV system is the highlight, it connects to not just TV channels, movies, ipod station and radio, but also the internet, for free. There is not much I can fault the room, it's comfortable and spacious, and if you need a cell phone, there is one that you can take with you around town to take calls while you are out and a speed dial to call hotel for help.

If I have to be picky, I would like to have a hairdryer, it is no small issue when you have lot of hair and it is usually out of control without being dried and gelled the first thing after a wash in the morning. Also, there is only one small window, facing an open air bar/restaurant (which looks so nice with all the greens surrounding it but unfortunately we didn't try).

The spa is above-par, it is located next to an interesing indoor poor, and the masseuse did know how to relief the stress on my back. The bar is small, although there are some mixes there that I would like to try.

Overall, a nice place and really really convenient if you want to go shopping or actually get around town (near a subway station).

Nice design hotel, great location. However the architecture sometimes suffers from Hong Kong lengendary lack of space : swimming pool is 3 levels underground (no natural light) ! Spa suite was huge but only had one very small window, needed to switch on lights in the middle of the day. Generally the hotel is quite dark with very little natural light.

Great breakfast: choice + quality.
