“Unique hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

I stayed during the last 8 years often at the Langham Place. It is always like coming home when I arrive here.
What I like:
* Location: Mongkok is great. You are close to MTR and train station when you want to head towards Shenzhen. It is even easy to go by public transport to the airport.
* Rooms: Enough space, even the standard rooms. Well designed and decorated. Nevertheless some rooms are a little bit worn. Always clean.
* Spa and gym: Gym is nice, not outstanding. Spa offers good treatments, but not cheap. Sometimes I don't see a good value proposition...
* Langham Place Club: Nice lounge, continuous improvements. One of the better hotel clubs in HK. Good food, middle priced wines, good selection. AND: Outstanding team. The club team makes everything possible. You can ask for everything, they help you. I didn't have seen such an engagement in a hotel before.
* Service and team: Outstanding. The Langham Place team makes the difference. As said before the club team is great. But also waiters, concierge, etc. are friendly, competent and supportive.
* Restaurants:
Ming Court: Very good restaurant. But even with 2 Michelin stars it isn't my favorite. I miss the "easy going" of the hotel.
Tokoro: Yes, this is the langham place style: Good japanese food and outstanding beef. Mr Hirayama is an excellent chef de cuisine. If you are there, then give them a try.
* Pricing: Compared with other 5* hotels in HK Langham Place offers a very good value for your money. I'm used to Grand Hyatt and Shangrila, too. Both are mostly more expensive.
* Summary: Very good hotel. It is not a classic "Grand" hotel, it is a superb place to stay and to enjoy HK.

Spent three days here. This hotel is smack dab in the middle of Mongkok, attached directly into the shopping mall. Flavoured air was a nice touch. Modern almost floral tones to all the decor of the hotel, gave it an extremely polished and beautiful look. The rooms were spectacular -- new, clean, iPod dock, TVs, ours had a great view of Mongkok in all its glory. Price point was a bit high but for location and quality of hotel, it was well worth it.

This is a fantastic, trendy and well-designed hotel that I was really looking forward to seeing. Unfortunately it is not located in a part of Hong Kong in which you would want to spend any amount of time. Kowloon is great, nothing wrong there, although if you're in town for business you'll likely be spending a lot of time across the harbor on Hong Kong Island. The problem is that the Langham Place is in the Mongkok district of Kowloon and there's just not much to do there. I spent more time in taxis than I care to remember, which is too bad because the hotel itself is great and reasonably priced. It's just not really within walking distance of much of what you want to see in HK.

The hotel is in the heart of busy, crowded Mongkok, Kowloon. The hotel is exclusive enough that you would not know that once you leave the front doors of the hotel crowds of shoppers are right there waiting for you to join them. The views are pretty awesome if you like to see other tall buildings and rooftops and a piece of the Victoria Harbor. The hotel has adjacent mall filled with mainly young adult shoppers. Walking distance takes you to the famous Ladies Market, MTR, public buses, restaurants of all types. The buffet breakfast in the hotel lobby restaurant has extensive display. It even has a chocolate fountain for your donuts. Throughout the hotel, interesting modern art pieces were on displayed. The room we stayed in is small, but has a modern bathroom with glass window to room. The shower was spacious, but the bath tub did not look inviting, surprisingly. For a five star hotel, I thought the tub should be in pristine condition. The amenities and towels were five star material. The service was excellent from concierge to bell boy.

Stayed for 5 days in this hotel. It was a pleasant stay for both my partner and I.
Located in the heart of Mongkok, a busy shopping district with lots-lots of restaurants.

Pros:
- Again, Location: Food, shopping mall, subway station, cinema, taxis.
- Attentive and very polite hotel staffs.
- Spa was not bad, beautiful view and ambience.
- Small and beautiful lobby in the night time, which i always prefer--- friendly atmosphere.
- Good value of afternoon tea!
- Good amenities, clean and comfortable bed.

Cons:
- Might not be the best hotel for those who avoid crowded place.
- Room starting to look tired and outdated.

My husband and I stayed here for 7 nights in September and had a fantastic time. We stayed in a Club Place room which although small, was very clean and well-kept. Nice modern bathroom and great housekeeping service. The bed is one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The only thing that disrupted a good nights sleep was the curtains that were not very dark, it was pretty much impossible to sleep past 7am, a shame since the bed was so comfortable! But this is the only thing I can fault with Langham Place. The staff were lovely and always happy to help, the Club lounge was fantastic, premium bar you can help yourself to at all times of the day and good breakfast, snacks, etc. It was also a lovely area to relax in away from the hustle and bustle of HK.
It's worth noting that Mong Kok is an extremely busy area of Hong Kong. We loved it, but be prepared for the crowds. The markets are within walking distance and there is plenty to entertain you at night.
The hotel is connected to a mall with a train station below so getting around HK is very easy. The train system is amazing and HK is a very easy city for visitors to navigate.
I had a massage in the Chuan Spa, and I must say it is one of the best spas I have experienced. We ate at Ming Court one night which was, as expected, exceptional.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Langham Place to family and friends.

I have visited Hong Kong with my husband on a number of previous occasions but this was our first stay at Langham Place. We were there to celebrate a friend's 70th birthday and it was a truly exceptional experience.
We were collected from the airport by a limousine sent from the hotel and that standard of service was maintained throughout our 5 day stay. We were greeted by the staff on our arrival and escorted up to the Club Lounge to check in. Our room had stunning views over the city out to Victoria Harbour. The facilities in the room were excellent with an extremely comfortable bed with a choice of pillows and the bathroom was well equipped with a great shower.
We had dinner in the two Michelin star Ming Court restaurant which was a meal to remember, anyone staying at the hotel must be sure to go there! We also had use of the Club Lounge where a good quality breakfast along with drinks and snacks are available all day - it is well worth upgrading to make use of this facility.
We enjoyed late evening drinks in The Portal bar on a few occasions - it seems to be a place where the young and beautiful people of Hong Kong gather.
I had an extremely relaxing massage in the Chuan Spa where there is also a gym and swimming pool - again all exceptional.
The hotel staff are second to none in their willingness to offer a great service, and appear to anticipate your needs without being over attentive, a clever balance to achieve. They are all unfailingly cheerful and polite - from the housekeeping team, to the Club Lounge staff and the gentleman who engaged us in conversation in the hotel lobby. We later found out he was the General Manager who clearly likes to meet his guests personally and ensure they are enjoying their stay.
This hotel in its' central location is outstanding and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hong Kong.

Room Tip: Upgrade to an Executive Room which will give access to the Club Lounge if you wish to take advantage...
